My place is quiet, quaint and comfortable. Located just one mile from downtown, it's conveniently on the free bus route and walking distance to Steamboat's 13 mile core trail and the mighty Yampa River. Great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and those travelling with their furry companions (pets).
Riverside is a quiet, local neighborhood filled with some of the kindest neighbors I have ever had! Riverside has an interesting history. Its duplexes were developed in the 70's in anticipation of housing Nordic Combined athletes in training for the '76 Olympics. The games were originally awarded to Denver, which planned to utilize satellite ski venues including Steamboat Springs. Unfortunately, logistical and financial road blocks ultimately closed the door on Denver's dream of hosting the '76 Olympics. And so stopped the construction of athlete housing in Riverside. Hence, the smattering of duplexes (like mine) and single family homes that were added with their colorful assortment of architectural style over the following years making Riverside the inviting neighborhood that it has grown up to be. Located just a mile west of downtown on the bus route, it is walking distance to the Yampa River and Steamboat's awesome 13 mile core trail.
Steamboat's Free bus service is just a few steps away or an easy bike ride to downtown on the core trail!
