Tucked away in the hills above Bailey, Colorado lies a mountain retreat. A cozy getaway ideal for scrapbookers, a group of friends or family. The main house offers 2,300 square feet of traditional log cabin charm. The workshop, located in a separate building easily accommodates a group of 12 people. The Gingerbread Cottage is just 30 miles from Denver’s C470 via Hwy 285.

Guests can arrive as early as 9 a.m. on the first day of the reservation. Check-out is by 1 p.m. the day of your departure.

During late November through the beginning of January, enjoy a more holiday feel as the home is decorated for Christmas.

Winter snowfall can vary during the winter months. For guests staying during late October through late April, we recommend driving an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Most winter storms will provide about 5" of snow at one time. Our driveway is steep and can be problematic for cars not properly equipped to handle snow. The neighborhood roads and driveway are regularly plowed as needed during the winter months..

Guest access
The entire house and workshop.

Other things to note
We have a strict NO PET policy.

NO SMOKING inside the home, garage or workshop space. Any guests who smoke must do so outdoors and must appropriately dispose of cigarette butts in a metal can or vehicle ashtray. Fines will be imposed if butts are found littering the property.

My husband and I have been opening up our vacation homes to guests as far back as 2012. Our hosting experience first began with scrapbooking and quilting groups that would stay at our properties for a fun girl's weekend full of crafting. We had such a great experience with those groups and really enjoyed hosting that we decided about 6 years ago to expand our demographic by hosting on Airbnb. Overall we have been hosting guests in our Bailey home since 2012 and our Estes Park home since 2018. Both my husband and I work full-time as software engineers and are busy raising a family of 4 children. We decided to begin purchasing investment property in 2012 as an additional investment for our retirement and help with future college tuition as our children aged. We own and manage the properties ourselves so that we have better control of our guest's experience. We have enjoyed hosting over the years and look forward to doing so for many years to come. We work hard to make sure that our guests feel welcome and cared for while staying at either of our properties. Not only have we been Airbnb hosts over the years, but we have in recent years been guests and participated in international Airbnb Experiences. We love the personal connection and value that Airbnb provides when traveling to new areas whether alone as a couple or with the extended family.
