You get what you pay for, the space can be appropriate but the conditions are not the best... If you are going to stay, you can't be picky.

Guests are supposed to self-clean. Since we can't guarantee compliance, the state of the house often depends on the integrity of the guests. Still, extremely affordable and a great place to make friends from all over the globe.

Cosy abode in an idyllic sub-urban area. Great kitchen amenities, and the price is second to none!

PLEASE READ THIS AND BECAREFUL PLZ. I reserved October 12th to October 15th for 6 people. That night, on 12th, We, 6 guests went to housing, and found it was overbooked. We called her, but she hung up while talking. When we were talking about the solution, our group needed time t…

Response from Tremeshia:
This is a great attempt from someone who was NEVER at risk for staying in the street, who did have a valid reservation at $15 per night for 6 people. I was overbooked by 1 guest and sent that guest at my expense to a higher-end hostel. Unfortunately, two guests who had reservations end last month asked if they could spend one night at the house before returning to Bulgaria. They were supposed to be at the house from Oct 10-11 only. They showed up at the house, claimed two bunks, and refused to leave. They are the true reason for the overbooking. While trying to explain this to Jiwon and work on a reasonably solution, I was getting drama. I ended the call and messaged IMMEDIATELY noting that I thought communication would be more productive via the messaging system. While the problem was mine to solve, I have SERIOUS medical issues. I wasn't just tired. I offered a Free stay for the first night, offered a refund if they had to cancel (Jiwon refused to cancel.), etc. Jiwon was simply upset and unable to see the situation for what it was. I apologized repeatedly and asked them several times to stay for free and allow me to resolve the situation in the morning. I have been housing students for years. While they certainly won't get the Ritz-Carlton for $10-$15 per night, I make sure everyone has a save place to stay while in DC. While I'd never met Jiwon, I have children. There is no scenario that would have seen them on the streets. I have been overbooked three times in 5 years of doing this. It's not good practice, but things happen. I've got a pretty good track record. Also, in the three times it has happened, I offered a FREE night stay to the student groups. Two out of three (Jiwon's group dissenting.) was thrilled to save money while making use of the sofas. So, you get a free night AND still get to use showers, wifi, and available bunks? I'd call that a win. I usually discount the other guests as well for the inconvenience. The other paid guests ALL received monetary compensation for this overbooking.
