The space

Bach 108 is situated underneath our home and has been recently renovated. It has it's own front door with a covered car park and enough space to accommodate a boat. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom can be set up as 2 singles or a king bed. Additionally there is a sofa bed in the lounge for which bedding can be provided.

The kitchenette has simple cooking facilities including a fridge and microwave. There is also Weber barbecue available for guests to use.
Bach 108 is 5 minutes drive from the centre of Paihia and Opua. Our local beach is Te Haumi beach which is a 10 minute walk and where you can also join the Bay of Islands walking track.

Guest access

Guests will have private access to the self contained unit with the use of the backyard and deck area. We have a friendly dog who has his own section of the garden and lives upstairs with us. Guests are welcome to help themselves to our herbs in the veggie garden.

We stayed in Bach 108 for 3 nights in Oct 2017 while on our honeymoon with our 2 year old daughter. Bach 108 is nestled high up in the hills overlooking the water and city centre of Paihia. Bach was easy to find and had easy parking. Upon entry we were greeted with a lovely welcoming letter, congratulating us, and an assortment of goodies to tuck into, like fresh fruit, nuts and chips (which our daughter promptly demolished). Bach was recently renovated and is both stylish and clean. It's also surprisingly spacious. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay in Paihia and would stay at Bach again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jerry! PROS: Amazing location, safe, easy parking, great hosts, clean house, smooth check-in and check-out, spacious rooms, comfy beds (we had the BEST sleep on our trip so far), big kitchen, awesome goodies on arrival and a sweet view from the balcony. CONS: Being up in the hills, you'll find a few spiders about (we killed 8 during our stay), but that didn't bother us much, we're Aussies and are used to it. The shower is fantastic, but the pressure is weak and the hot water runs out quickly. We had to have short showers - not the end of the world.

Jerry was very hospital, helpful and thoughtful. He provides a generous breakfast and lots of fresh food and drinks. The accomodation was spacious, clean and a short drive to town. I would recommend Jerry's place to others.

Jerry was a fantastic and accommodating host. He gave us plenty of good recommendations of things to do in Paihia. The location is in close proximity to the centre of town by car. The snacks and refreshments upon arrival were a really nice touch. I would recommend this place.

Bach 108 was perfect for our small family and we had such an accommodating host, full of knowledge and advice but also gave us complete privacy. Super professional, beautifully appointed, cosy and flawlessly clean.

This is a great place to stay. Lovely view and conveniently located up the hill from town - a very short drive or an athletic walk for those who would like the exercise. Everything was very clean and well appointed. Kitchenette had both a hot plate and electric skillet so suited well to making simple meals. Jerry was very accommodating and helpful. Only recommendation would be to bring your bug spray as you will want to sit on the deck and take in the stars and the sandflies/mosquitos will get you.
