Full breakfast is included using local, organic and home made produce. There is a private sitting room for guests, with open fire. Location is 2 miles from Bunessan & 6 from Fionnphort/Iona/Staffa ferries. For evening meals 2 hotels, 1 cafe, 2 restaurants within 10-20 minute drive. High Lee is a traditional croft, with a large garden, Hebridean Sheep, Ponies, and working sheepdog.. Ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers. I let one room, so guests have the place to themselves.

The space

Located in the south of the Island of Mull, High Lee is ideal for wide open spaces, beautiful sandy beaches, wild life, and wild flowers. Ideal stop over on your way to Iona or Staffa - or longer stays!

Guest access

There is a large and secluded garden, and guests may also climb the hill behind the house, enjoy the views and visit the hill lochans.

Interaction with guests

To find High Lee Croft, coming off the ferry at Craignure, turn left on to the Fionnphort/Iona Ferry road. After driving approx. one hour you will come to a cross roads with a large road sign saying LEE to the left. Turn left up this road and drive to the very end of the road (almost one mile). High Lee Croft is the very last white house in the trees behind a green wooden gate. There are b+b signs. Sometimes there is a metal gate to open and go through, the b+b is 150m through this gate. Do not use Satnav to find High Lee as it takes you on the wrong road!

Other things to note

For overseas visitors, please note that there are no cash machines in the south of the island and Iona - so although you can use your credit cards in some shops & restaurants, you do need a supply of cash.

Minty is a warm and friendly host who knows Mull and its history. She was very happy to share her knowledge and give us advice on where to go and what to see. She seemed to have a direct line to the weather-maker as she confidently and accurately told us what to expect so that we could plan our journey of discovery. The house is a good way off the main road so is very, very quiet. The room is comfortable and we also had our own bathroom and delightful sitting room. Water comes from a spring and seems to be the Elixir of Youth. The garden is beautiful and Minty's black sheep entertaining. This is a great base from which to see the southern part of Mull. We made two day trips to Tobermory by different roads so that we could see the terrain and get to know the island. It takes over two hours to drive to Tobermory, whichever way you take, as the roads are mainly single lane with passing places and there are far too many spots where taking photos seems to be essential! These were long days as a result. But there's lots to see and do in the southern part, so stick around the local area if you are staying here and consider taking other accommodation in the northern part of the island to reduce the long-driving days. Minty's warm hospitality includes delicious breakfast with free-range eggs, delicious bread and the most wonderful porridge served with the best accompaniments. But the best surprise was finding a hot water bottle in our beds at night. We can thoroughly recommend this lovely home and its warm and welcoming host. We'd come back in a heart beat.

I never stayed with Araminta because our car broke down and we never made it to her place in Isle of Mull. I did however receive a partial refund from her out of the goodness of her heart after she heard that the car company did not compensate us for our loss of accommodation outgoings. Thank you Araminta for everything and your kindness and partial refund.

A lovely place - conveniently located to Iona. Minty was a most considerate host and a wealth of valuable local knowledge. Don't be in a hurry on the narrow roads.

My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Minty's place in mid-march. After we missed the boat over, Minty was very helpful and understanding and allowed us to stay the following night. Her place is in a beautiful part of the world. It was warm, with a fire, we got hot water bottles before bed and we shared a glass of wine. Minty even took us out to catch a glimpse of the northern lights at 10.30pm! The accommodation was clean and warm and quiet and very comfortable. We would definitely recommend anyone to visit the Isle of Mull and stay at Minty's place.

Fantastic experience, Minty was very welcoming and her home is so comfortable and relaxing. Really can't recommend it enough, everything was perfect - from the communication after we booked, right through to our delicious breakfast ( especially the porage!). Thank you for a lovely stay!

This has to be the most amazing Airbnb we have stayed in. Minty’s place is idyllic, peaceful and it’s the little touches that make it feel like home. The crackling fire, the delicious homemade breakfast and the hot water bottles on your bed. It was everything and more that we were looking for in a holiday. We’re only sad that we couldn’t stay longer. Minty also offered us some useful suggestions to fill in our time as our ferry was cancelled due to weather.

Easy to find with Minty’s helpful directions. Nothing was too much trouble. Delicious breakfast and lots of extra touches to make us feel welcome - a fire in the sitting room, lots of interesting books to browse and hot water bottles in the bed.
