The space
As one of only five whole-floor residences in the building, the vast century-old loft is an inspired reinterpretation of the warehouse space into residential living by acclaimed Australian architect, Iain Halliday. Measuring 275 sqm, it features five-metre ceilings with direct lift access. Floor-to-ceiling windows are bathed in eastern sunlight and a mirrored wall enhances the sense of openness.
A custom-built Carrara marble dining table with room for 20 seats anchors the open plan living space, while an Isamu Noguchi Akari installation and vintage Murano glass lighting bring warmth once the day settles. The mezzanine bedroom with ensuite provides the ultimate retreat from days spent exploring the Harbour City.
THE SECOND features three thoughtfully designed bedrooms across a striking mezzanine-style layout. The main bedroom includes a king bed and private ensuite, while the second and third bedrooms each feature queen beds. A separate main bathroom offers a bath alongside luxury bath amenities for a relaxed, hotel-style experience. Hidden within the building’s original safe — a reminder of its history as a tea warehouse more than 100 years ago — the cinema room creates a uniquely immersive retreat.
Blending vintage character with contemporary living, the apartment includes a fully equipped stainless-steel kitchen with a Zanussi four-burner gas oven. A dedicated workspace for two people sits alongside a record player with a curated selection of albums.

The location is a five minute flat walk from central station. The apartment also includes secure underground parking for one small-sized vehicle.

Other things to note
The bedrooms are mezzanine loft-style spaces and therefore are not completely soundproofed from the living areas. Children are always welcome at THE SECOND, however the mezzanine design will require young children to be supervised upstairs due to climbing and fall risk.
THE SECOND is located in a residential building. The privacy and peaceful amenity of our neighbours is paramount to us. BUCKS, HENS or PARTY events are STRICTLY PROHIBITED. The accommodation sleeps 6 and you are welcome to have an additional 4 guests over for dining with prior approval. Non staying guests must vacate the property and music is to be turned off by 10pm. Catering requests will be considered on application.
