My place is good for solo adventurers. Yorkshire Street is a very quiet street and is only a 10 minute drive from the airport. Taxis to and from the airport are approx. $22 each way plus $2 for each large case.
It is situated within a 8 minute walk to the beaches as well as to two supermarkets, restaurants and several bars. It is also within a 5 minute walk to the jitney or bus stop which will take you into Nassau.

To catch a jitney just stand anywhere along West Bay Street and put your arm out to stop a #10 or a #12 jitneys. The fare is $1.25. East bound Jitneys will take you into downtown Nassau. You can get off anywhere on route ... Cable Beach, Bahamar, Goodmans Bay Beach, Saunders Beach, Junkanoo Beach, Arawak Cay/fish fry, Cricket club, Fort Charlottes. From downtown you can walk to John Watlins museum, rum factory and bar, The National Art Gallery, Graycliffe : hotel restaurant, bar, chocolate factory, cigar factory, artisans studios. You can catch a water taxi for $4 to go to Paradise Island or walk along Bay Street and cross the bridge to Paradise Island.
Catch #12 jitney to travel west to Orange Hill Beach, Dacquri stand, Louis and Stern coffee shop, Compass Point restaurant, Studio restaurant, Aqua fire restaurant, Love beach and Lyford Cay.
Jitneys run from sunrise to sunset. To return catch #10 or #12 jitney from Mcdonalds ( opposite the Hilton Hotel), ask driver to stop at Cable Beach Villas and walk around the corner back to the apt.

Michael is a wonderful host. He picked me up from the airport and shared a bunch of useful tips about getting around and where to go - he made a fairly stressful visa trip much easier. The room is comfortable and clean, and the beach is only a bus ride away.

Michaels' place was perfect for my needs, if a bit further away from the resort that my friends were staying at than I anticipated. Not really a problem, however, since the busses run frequently until nightfall and are cheap and easy to use. He and Irina were soooo accommodating, truly going above and beyond by giving me a tour of the area, sharing occasional meals with me, leaving me a fresh pot of coffee every morning, and even taking care of me when I had a severe allergic reaction to some food I ate (I'm celiac). If you're content to go without the frigid A/C and fancy amenities (that come with an obnoxious price tag) at the nearby, fancy resorts, and prefer some real human interaction and a cozy bed to sleep in, then I cannot recommend Michael's place highly enough!

Mike's place is easily accessible from both the 12b jitney (which goes to the airport) and the #10, which will take you into the livelier parts of Nassau. A couple of nice beaches are within walking distance and so is a Starbucks and a variety of restaurants. There is also a lesser-known oceanfront coffee shop you should check out, easily accessible from a jitney near his home. The house and room were more spacious than I anticipated from the pictures -- you will be comfortable here. Mike went above and beyond to help my son and me enjoy our stay -- thank you so much! I really can't say enough. He is the best host you could possibly ask for :)

Stop Searching, away from the noisy downtown yet easy and inexpensive ($1.25) to get there a block away from Michael's.. Michael is one of a kind, extremely nice, smart and respectful individual. Private room was clean and just as described, luckily for us he was in vacations from work and offer airport pickup and drop off, tour the city and breakfast was a bonus, near supermarkets, fast foods, Sandy point Marina (Fun at night) and of course "Beach" Thank you Michael for hanging out, your suggestions and recommendations certainly made our trip to Nassau an unforgettable one.

Mike was a great host, he picked me up and drove me to the airport and his place is close to the local shops, public beaches as well as to buses into central Nassau. I would definitely stay here again!
