My place is good for solo adventurers. Yorkshire Street is a very quiet street and is only a 10 minute drive from the airport. Taxis to and from the airport are approx. $22 each way plus $2 for each large case.
It is situated within a 8 minute walk to the beaches as well as to two supermarkets, restaurants and several bars. It is also within a 5 minute walk to the jitney or bus stop which will take you into Nassau.
To catch a jitney just stand anywhere along West Bay Street and put your arm out to stop a #10 or a #12 jitneys. The fare is $1.25. East bound Jitneys will take you into downtown Nassau. You can get off anywhere on route ... Cable Beach, Bahamar, Goodmans Bay Beach, Saunders Beach, Junkanoo Beach, Arawak Cay/fish fry, Cricket club, Fort Charlottes. From downtown you can walk to John Watlins museum, rum factory and bar, The National Art Gallery, Graycliffe : hotel restaurant, bar, chocolate factory, cigar factory, artisans studios. You can catch a water taxi for $4 to go to Paradise Island or walk along Bay Street and cross the bridge to Paradise Island.
Catch #12 jitney to travel west to Orange Hill Beach, Dacquri stand, Louis and Stern coffee shop, Compass Point restaurant, Studio restaurant, Aqua fire restaurant, Love beach and Lyford Cay.
Jitneys run from sunrise to sunset. To return catch #10 or #12 jitney from Mcdonalds ( opposite the Hilton Hotel), ask driver to stop at Cable Beach Villas and walk around the corner back to the apt.
