This space is located in the heart of lovely, historic Marshall. The large, comfortable room is on the 2nd floor of a renovated, two story, downtown building. We have lots of amenities, and a continental breakfast is included. Leave your car parked, and walk to attractions, shops, restaurants, bars & the brewery.

All travelers are welcome here! I simply ask that you are kind, and respectful of the space. I also ask you to have a profile and photo of yourself before booking. Thank you!

The space
The upstairs, downtown space is in the heart of Marshall! A short walk to restaurants, shopping, local theaters, and museums. A perfect location for participating in our many local events including; The Marshall Historic Home Tour, Candlelight Walking Tour, Blues Festival, and the 4th of July Cruise to the Fountain.
Your accommodations are one large bedroom with a Queen size bed and an attached full bath. The very large bathroom has a stand up shower only. We have a roll away bed and a Pack N Play for use for a third person, child or infant. The bedroom and bath are located within our second floor office space. The bathroom is shared by office staff (1 or 2 people) during working hours only. The bath is for your exclusive use nights and weekends. Most guests tell us it's like having a huge apartment and not just a bedroom, as they feel quite comfortable using the shared space even when we happen to be working.
The space was designed to be an apartment, so it has everything you need. The area outside the bedroom is shared, and includes a kitchen, a dining area that doubles as a work space and a sitting area, all available for your use. The office has very little traffic, and our main business is located downstairs. The downstairs business is open Mon-Sat. It can be a bit noisy during our open hours Mon-Fri from 7 am until 7 pm, but it quiets down later in the day (usually by 4 or 5). We close at 2 pm on Saturdays, and we are rarely around on Sundays or holidays. We may stop by our upstairs office on the weekend, but not for long! Weekday rentals are more suited to early risers or business travelers, and weekends and holidays should suit anyone!
Continental breakfast items and beverages will be available for guests in our kitchen area. If you have any specific dietary needs, I'm happy to accommodate them with enough notice. There is a full size refrigerator, a microwave, a stove top (please don't use the oven or fry anything) and a dishwasher for your use. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes, utensils, can opener, corkscrew, salt & pepper, paper towels, dish soap and dish towels. We ask you to clean up after yourself in the kitchen and dining area.
There is a private entrance and plenty of free parking. On occasion the free parking fills up because of special events, but we have the use of our own private parking spaces nearby.

Guest access
The large bedroom is private. The attached bath is shared only during business hours. The rest of the space is shared, but it's mainly employees walking through on their way to our office on the same level as the Airbnb, or possibly a customer getting fitted in our upstairs dressing room. Our work spaces are separate from the bedroom, and the shared space gets minimal use even when we are here working.
The bedroom is large enough to comfortably use our roll-away bed or our pack-n-play for a 3rd guest. One or two children are welcome! We have a safety gate for use at the staircase if needed.
Unfortunately, our location is not handicap accessible.

Other things to note
Your accommodations are above a business establishment. We operate Monday-Friday from 6:00 am, closing our doors at 7 pm. On Saturdays, we operate from 7:45 am until we close at 2 pm. Although the bedroom is generally quiet, you may hear some noise from our business operating, as well as street noise as we are in downtown Marshall. Outside noise is rarely an issue, but during special events, pleasant weather and if the windows are open, you could be bothered if you're a light sleeper.
I have a dog, Tyler, who accompanies me to work some days. He is a very friendly cock-a-poo.

Location

Marshall, Michigan, United States

Marshall is home to one of the nation's largest historic landmark districts, so we have many historic homes and businesses to see. Our accommodations are within one block of eateries Schuler's Restaurant and Winston's Pub, The Stagecoach Inn and Jade Garden. We are also within a block or two of the Honolulu House Museum and the famous Brook's Fountain. We are walking distance to many other food and beverage places including; Kate's Diner for a great breakfast, Zarzuela for tapas and sangria, The Broadway Grill for any meal, Mike's Place for awesome burgers, 5 Star Pizza, Mancino's, Grand River Brewery for lunch, dinner, beer and distilled spirits, and the Dark Horse Brewing Company for locally brewed beers and great food.
Turkeyville, with it's exclusively turkey menu, theater, shops and special events is a short drive away.
For other entertainment, we are within walking distance to several museums, the Bogar movie theater, the Franke Center and Great Escape Theater Company. Albion offers the beautifully restored Bohm Theater which shows movies Thursday-Sunday, and has a Blues concert the first OR second Monday of every month (check their website for details). We are 5 miles from Firekeepers Casino which offers several excellent dining choices, and many entertainment options. Downtown Marshall offers an array of unique shopping opportunities.
Albion College and Olivet College are nearby.
If you enjoy the outdoors we have lots of options. The Kalamazoo River is nearby offering smallmouth bass fishing (I know a great fly fishing guide), canoeing and kayaking opportunities. Both Marshall and Albion have nature centers to explore. Marshall has the "Riverwalk" which is a lovely walking trail. Albion has an excellent disc golf course at Victory Park.

It's fun being an Airbnb traveler and I love being an Airbnb host, too! About me: I'm a business owner who decided to turn a really cool extra room, into an Airbnb property. I always wanted to have my own Bed and Breakfast, so this is a great way to satisfy that desire! I enjoy traveling and I look forward to time away for relaxing and experiencing new things. I like all sorts of accommodations; rustic, luxury and everything in between. I travel mostly in my home state of Michigan, and I especially love the Upper Peninsula. Other favorite destinations are Tennessee, Chicago, Florida and any place on the water! My number one requirement in accommodations is cleanliness. My second requirement is that I can get a good meal near my accommodations, or else have the facilities to prepare my food. I think it's fair for me to say that I am a good guest. I'm clean, I'm quiet when I need to be quiet and I'm respectful of an owners property.

During your stay
I enjoy meeting guests, so I try to be available to personally check you in. If I am not available, one of my co-hosts Amy or Debbie, will have the honor of checking you in. On weekdays, one of us will likely be in or around the office during the day, up until 6 or 7 pm. We can answer questions about the area, give suggestions or just chat. If privacy is what you're looking for, we don't bother you after check-in unless you need us!
