The space
PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY CAREFULLY, SO YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH WHAT IS PROVIDED AND THE WHEREABOUTS OF ITS LOCATION.
Please do not mark us down in your review for location.

This cottage offers quality and comfort in a peaceful setting. Plenty of free road parking. It is very quirky with some old features that date from the 17th century, hence the low beamed ceilings, although we have tried to put a modern feel throughout, but tried to keep the cottage character.
• NO SMOKING apart from outside, where you can sit and listen to the brook from the secluded back garden, which is a perfect place on a barmy clear dry night.
• The cottage is situated approximately three miles east of Manchester, inside the conservation area of Gore Brook Valley Heritage Trail which is surrounded by trees and lots of birds and small animals.
• Less than a mile away to the M60 and the motorway networks.
• The bathroom is downstairs with a large shower. Includes shower gel, soap & hair products.
• Fresh linen, towels and hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms.
• Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and tablets
• Complimentary tea & coffee, oil & many more supplies included.
• A washing machine is available but THERE IS A CHARGE OF £5 TO USE which includes the soap powder.
• THERE IS A CHARGE OF £15 if only two guests are booked but require both bedrooms, this covers the extra cost of the laundry. We find this is the fairest way, instead of charging you full rate for four people when only two people are staying. Please leave the money, pay via Paypal or we take from your deposit.
• We can provide a travel cot for your little one, if prior notice is given. Hire of a cot is £12 per stay, included bedding and towel.
• We do not charge you a cleaning fee, so we hope that you will leave the cottage how you found it. We can charge you £25 from your deposit if it is left in a bad state.

ALL EXTRA CHARGES ARE TO BE LEFT IN STERLING WITH THE KEYS ON THE TABLE OR PAY VIA PAYPAL OR WE WILL TAKE FROM YOUR DEPOSIT.

Guest access
This cottage is entirely just for your use. If ONLY 2 people are staying please inform us if the second bedroom is to be used as there is an additional charge of £15 to cover the laundry costs.
To lock the front door you have to lift the handle fully to lock and then use the key, whether from the inside or out.
Park your car directly opposite the cottage not outside the neighbours houses, it is free.
Beautiful ‘Debdale Park’ is just along the main road, which has lakes and walking paths, plus a small animal sanctuary.

Other things to note
Key box is not electronic as it holds the key inside.
All night busses to Manchester are situated within a short stroll away.
We ask that you take into consideration throughout your stay to the neighbours so that there are to be no parties or loud music.
It is no smoking in the cottage but in the garden is ok

Supermarkets (Tescos & Aldi) and Gorton indoor market are within an easy stroll turning right out of the cottage and walk towards the traffic light end.
There are a couple of good pubs if you walk left out of the door:
The Vale Cottage - "The Country Pub in the city" Well hidden, but just cross the main road at the top of Far Lane and continue to walk straight, along the path into the trees. Great food
The Lord Nelson - Live music Fridays & Saturday nights.
MacDonalds is left out of the cottage and right at the top of the road.

I enjoy global travel exploring and experiencing different cultures, cuisine and architecture, the older the better. I love going on walks to the nearby countryside and river or catching up with friends over a drink or two in the local pubs and coffee shops. My daughter lives with me as she is training to be a commercial airline pilot and my son lives and works in London, but still likes to visit. My old cat, Alfie, is the nosiest cat around but loves to say hello to guests.
