Rachael is the sweetest and her home is so comfortable and welcoming! Upon arrival she greeted us with such great energy and made us homemade sangria (yum!). She also bought us a key holder with a light so when we came home late, we could see--how nice, right?! Our stay was so pl…

Rachel's was clean, quiet and conveniently located near several metro stations and the effervescent Wellington area. It's about half an hour metro ride from the city centre, but if you're interested in a good price for great quality albeit not in the heart of the city, this is de…

Response from Rachael:
Thanks Adriana. Just a side note however in regards to location: we are only 15 -17 minutes from downtown on the green line where you can get off at either Atwater, Guy St or Peel St. stations which brings you right smack into the HEART of downtown Montreal.

Rachael's place is really nice - just like her! The room was nice and clean. Even though it is located in a residential area - which makes it really quiet, you aren't far from public transportation and shops. Rachael is an amazing host with great conversations and welcoming hear…

I had a bad experience with this host. She asked me to make a three day commitment and discuss the possibility of extension upon arrival. When that discussion did not go the way she wanted, she changed her behavior abruptly from hospitable to hostile. It was uncomfortable to be …

Response from Rachael:
Dear potential Airbnb Guests & Hosts, I am very disappointed, saddened even, and disagree with this derogatory statement, as it is in my opinion, untruthful and manipulative, like Ms. Figley. I was brought up under the old adage that if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all, so I decided not to leave negative feedback for this guest that may cause her difficulties renting in the future as she has a nomadic lifestyle and it could prove difficult for certain hosts. Her review however, is not at all accurate, shows true malice, and in hindsight I should have revealed the negative aspects of having received Ms. Figley. My bad. I will not attack her, but this guest is very untruthful and I suggest you also verify with her previous hosts before making arrangements with her as she mentioned having difficulties with hosts & rentals in the past. However being a single Mother, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. This guest was also a great loss of income, making a commitment and then not honouring it, and showed absolutely no remorse. In fact, I have trouble referring to her as a "guest"... I refused more than a few other renters from other sites ( and timing IS everything) and I did make her aware of that fact when she dropped the bomb and told me she was leaving to stay with friends and not honouring our agreement to extend. That was not hostility, that was disagreement over a business matter and I sent her visual proof ( after departure) to show her I was not being dishonest and trying to guilt her in any way. Other than telling her I didn't find the situation very cool, I really had no interactions with her as she immediately enclosed herself in her room. Furthermore, to clarify- her communications regarding her intentions were very clear cut -as were mine- from day one about renting for an extended period. Telling her that her deception made the experience ugly for our family, in private and after her departure, I felt was the more decent thing to do, but she has chosen to air her dirty laundry on this site and cause potential damage to our listing - as well as display such aspersion for our hospitality. That should tell you enough about this guest. As for the supposed noise, all doors were left shut to ensure a quiet environment for her son, so again as Kellyanne Conway would say, this is an alternate reality of the truth. Also I tip-toeing to the bathroom and back starting at 8pm, in respect of the child, and I even arranged to sleep at a friend's the second night to leave them some quietude and privacy. Having not been home the second night, I was unaware of the garbage odour until my arrival the next afternoon - her third and last day. There was a slight odour from the garbage bag after a few items from cooking the day before were left in it ( and possibly what the guest had disposed of), but I proceeded to change the garbage immediately in order to not be offensive to our guests. On the LAST NIGHT of her stay, the rinsed dishes left in the sink were a bowl, a tea cup, and 2 utensils, whereas she makes it sound as if the sink was full of filthy dishes....and that's just foul and all together nasty. Finally, under the guise of being a long-term guest ( with no intention to be so, other than to get the long term rental discount), I did purchase some articles of convenience, including a few toys for children ( most were new, 2 were second hand), and showed her where McDonalds was (it's basically in the back yard). After having a quick bite at McD's I showed her where the park was -down the street- for her child's benefit. If that was overwhelming, I apologize, no one put a gun to her head to go, and the kiddie purchases that were made were also for future guests with children as not many toys fit in a suitcase when travelling from far for long periods and some toilettries are sometimes forgotten. After years of working in VIP services, and hotels including the Shearaton & Ritz carlton banners, I feel ashamed that I received these people so nicely, and was deceived, and now insulted. After all the efforts hosts like myself make to ensure that guests arrive in a clean, comfortable, safe and hospitable environment, to have to write a defensive statement in response to such a con artist is truly quite disheartening and leaves me pondering if I should continue using this service. And all this for 105$. In hopes of better experiences ahead, Rachael
