The space
Discover this hidden gem at the gateway to Victoria’s High Country!

We look forward to hosting you & sharing this hidden gem!

The property is in an ideal location, less than 15 minutes to Mansfield township and only 25 minutes to the entrance of Mt Buller and the Victorian snowfields.

During the winter months if you let us know what time you will be arriving, we can make sure the fire is lit, the lights are on and the cottage is lovely & warm for your arrival. All you have to do is sit back and relax!

The variety of animals that live on the farm are a real hit with our guests. Hand-feeding is the best way to get to know them, especially the alpaca and miniature Pygmy goats. We also have baby miniature Pygmy goats who love cuddles!!!

Also nearby is the awe-inspiring road to the King Valley wineries-within half an hour you are at Powers Lookout which really is a sight to behold. There is also a short nature walk at the site of the lookout which guides you around boulders through well-maintained paths.

There's plenty to do

...relax on the deck with a freshly brewed coffee or choose from a variety of different teas whilst reading the newspaper, a magazine or book.

...sip a wine or two and enjoy a platter on the deck overlooking the ever-changing landscape of the Mansfield Valley, surrounded by beautiful established gardens and watching the kids play in their own private garden complete with climbing rope and tyre swing.

...or enjoy a well-deserved holiday beer whilst listening to your favourite music via the Bluetooth dock, watching kangaroos and experiencing the best sunsets ever, followed by an awesome star-filled sky!

...take a beautifully scenic walk down to the cascades of the Broken River at the bottom of the block, hand-feed our pet alpacas and miniature goats whilst spotting native animals.

...or just simply snuggle up on the comfy couches in front of the cosy fireplace and be mesmerised by the magic of the flames.

There is lots to see & do at the property.

The rural setting is such that it is constantly changing, especially with the resident animals-it is a real pleasure to sit and watch the goats & alpacas roaming around and interacting. The owners can arrange for you to help out at feeding time by hand-feeding the animals some hay or pellets-a great experience for kids and parents alike as well as a fantastic photo opportunity!

At the bottom of the property is the Broken River which is a beautiful short walk to see the river and cascades-you will probably see Kangaroos on the way! And maybe lucky enough to spot a platypus! There is also a tyre swing and rope to climb for the kids in the private establish gardens.

If you would like a scenic drive, half an hour away in Power's Lookout which is on the way to Whitfield and the King Valley wineries. A gorgeous well-maintained lookout over the vineyards and short bush walk to breathe in the clean country air!

There is obviously also Mt Buller which is a lovely half hour drive to the entrance gate. During winter you can experience an abundance of snow and enjoy down-hill skiing, cross country skiing, snow-boarding, tobogganing, ice skating or snow-play! It is a real winter wonderland!

The main town of Mansfield is a lovely 15 minute drive. It has all that you would need including two fully-stocked supermarkets, lots of cafes & restaurants, a post office and three pubs as well as lovely gift and clothing shops. There are also two great parks and a skate park for the kids! And new this year is mini-golf, a fantastic family fun activity!

The district of Mansfield has lots to offer, catering for pretty much every hobby from cycling to photography to boating and fishing not to mention skiing and even a digital cinema! There is a fantastic information centre open everyday from 10-3pm.

Please also feel free to contact us to ask for more information to enhance your stay with us.

Looking forward to hosting you and reading of your experiences of our beautiful area!

Kind regards,
Vickie & Ed

When we lived together in London in the late 1990s my now husband Ed & I had a shared dream of running our own accommodation in Australia. We made the tree change in 2003, bought our property a year later & after years of dedicated building & landscaping and lots of hard work, it has taken us until 2017 to realise that dream but we are now open for business & loving it! What we have created in Barwite is more than we could ever have imagined to be possible & we are looking forward to this next chapter in our lives along with our two beautiful children. We are very proud of what we have achieved & are happy now it is all established. We are very much looking forward to hosting you and sharing our dream property with you.
