The space
Indulge in a spa like experience with the 9ft glassed in steam shower, and then put some records on in the living room to wind down with a drink of your choice. Relax in the rocking chairs out front or in the adirondack chairs near the ferns while reminiscing with friends and family by the propane or wood burning fire pit. Soak in the private hot tub on the back balcony overlooking the garden and natural ferns below while hearing the sounds of the river and waterfall 600ft away in the back ground. Challenge your friends to a game of giant connect four or cornhole in the side yard, and then wind down in the evening with a nice bike ride to explore the area.
We are one of the few properties in the region with a 97% flat driveway. No four wheel drive required. The paved roads to the home are easy to navigate as well.

This is convenient mountain living with a beautifully designed home and resort access. The resort is located at 127 Cherokee Trail, Sapphire, NC 28774 which is only a 7 minute drive from the home.
***The Onyx is part of The Sapphire Valley Resort and its amenities. The resort allows for guests- all names in party required for resort access list- at discounted rates- $5 per person per day or $25 per person per week.
The golf amenity is also a perk that many of our guests enjoy. The golf amenity is $6 per person for a 3-day pass to The Red Bird Links 9-hole course featuring magnificent views.

*Bikes (2) 🚲 🚲 are available to the left of the home on the bike racks. Please feel free to explore the area as you see fit. Helmets not provided. Please use your best judgement and manage your own safety as you deem appropriate.
*The bikes 🚲 🚲 are adult sized Schwinn Hybrid models with a 28 inch wheel best suited for riders between 5-5 and 6-1. A video link about the bikes can be provided upon your request.
*The Onyx has custom 🌽 cornhole boards that are located in the left side yard near the bikes.
*The Onyx has a giant connect four game located on the front porch near the gas grill. We also keep extra propane on site for our guests convenience.
*The Onyx features both a propane 🔥 fire pit, found on the covered front porch in front of the rocking chairs, and a wood burning insert tiki brand 🔥 fire pit, located on the back balcony overlooking the beautiful forest 🌲 where you can hear the sounds of the river below while roasting marshmallows with your loved ones.
We do provide 🔥 🪵 fire wood at no charge. Please, no lighter fluid as the wood fire pit is on the back deck near the home. Fire extinguisher 🧯 in kitchen.

As of 4/30/26 Bears 🐻 have been seen in the area and near the home, please be cautious and aware of your surroundings. Do not leave food or trash outside unattended.
If you are staying more than a couple of nights and need trash service, we are happy to accommodate the in between times as needed. Currently, trash pick up is on Tuesday and Friday just place your trash in the bins outside to the left of the home near the bikes.
We take no financial responsibility for any accidents bear related or not that happen at The Onyx, and by staying at The Onyx you are agreeing to waive all liability and you are waiving your right to pursue any legal action if an accident occurs. You are also agreeing to take 100% responsibility for your own personal safety, plan for your bike safety if you choose to use the bikes and to plan for the safety of those in your party.

There are Sapphire Valley Security vehicles (white) that patrol our neighborhood, so if you happen to see one at night, please do not be alarmed. It is the safety team for our resort HOA.
