Alfie and Kenji's place was great. It was close to a local subway station which was then close to the Yamanote line. There were plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and shops in the area. Both Alfie and Kenji were efficient with communication and my partner and I loved chatting to the both of them when we met them. The pictures are exactly what you get (or better) and everything is very clean, it's spotless. There was fresh breakfast food everyday and a coffee machine to use which was perfect for breakfast before exploring. The bathroom is large and has a good shower. There are towels in the room for use as well which was great since I forgot mine. The bedroom itself on the first floor is spacious, it has a heater/air-con and the bed was very comfortable. They also provide some brochures/maps of things to do in Tokyo which was lovely. The downstairs toilet which is for guest usage was like most other Japanese toilets with a warm toilet seat which was great. My partner and I highly recommend the Urban Tokyo House to anyone looking for comfort and quiet but still close to the city to explore. Also the place was easy to find and access and since the room was on the first floor there are no hassles of having to carry heavy luggage upstairs. Also I lost my phone in Japan and I messaged Alfie and he was kind enough to look for me at the local station, so he is definitely a host that is nice and likes to put in the extra effort.

The place was very clean and a short distance from the station. It is easy to find the place if you have pocket wifi and Alfie gave us very clear instructions and made sure that we had everything we needed. He always responded straightaway whenever we had questions and both him and Kenji were very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely stay with them again next time!

Our stay at the Urban Tokyo house exceeded all expectations. Alfie and Kenji were gracious and accommodating hosts who went out of their way to ensure we felt welcomed. Daily coffee, fruit and breakfast replenishments made for a perfect start to the day. The house was in a great location, close to public transport, local bites and grocery stores. We will be definitely returning to urban Tokyo house next time we visit Japan.

Alfie and Kenji made us feel welcome right from the start. They were really helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. Our room was accurate to the description. The place is in a nice neighbor hood with lots of restaurants and shops down the street.

We loved staying at Alfie & Kenji's place! It was in a perfect location, close to the metro train station very convenient. The house itself was modern and stylish, very clean and they had fresh pastries and fruit ready for you to start your day! They were both very helpful and had plenty of books and maps of Tokyo to help you get the best out of your trip. They aren't home all the time so it's like you have the apartment to yourself! The portable wifi is fantastic to use around Tokyo another added bonus! It was our first experience at an air BnB and it was the perfect choice!

Great stay! Alfie and Kenji has a beautiful home, it was modern and extremely clean. Great features such as a washing machine and a dryer, WIFI in the house and a pocket WIFI when traveling Tokyo and heating in the bedroom. If you don't mind sharing a home then this place is great. Japanese houses are built to hear things, unfortunately you sleep on the bottom floor so you may hear movement during the night and morning, aside from that it's a really nice stay.

Born & raised in Texas but based in Tokyo now. Run airbnb with my Japanese businesss partner, Kenji. Mature, respectful professionals who work hard but know how to enjoy life. With our Southern/Texas & Japanese backgrounds, hospitality comes quite naturally to us. I studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand and Paris, France and Kenji studied abroad in NYC during our university days so definitely have a global perspective on things.

Interested in traveling, photography, skin care, cooking, home renovation & interior design. Spent about 3 years designing and renovating the house. Our design aesthetic is clean, modern and uncluttered; a bit Japanesey with a mid-century modern flair. Although we are done with most of our interior design projects, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the comfort and design of our space.

We love good quality food/ingredients, nice wine, and Japanese whiskey. We have a particular weakness for champagne & macarons. We also love collecting good quality cookware and kitchen gadgets and have a small but growing collection of Japanese knives, handmade Japanese ceramic dinnerware, and Japanese crystal barware. Love watching cooking & design shows and never get tired of a good old-fashioned make-over.

I fell in love with Tokyo when I first moved here and haven't stopped being amazed by the city every single day. Best place in the world for food, fashion, and shopping as far as I'm concerned. The most fulfilling part of having guests for me is that it gives me the opportunity to help others discover the city and fall in love with it too.
