Whether you're a solo business traveller, a romantic couple exploring the city, or a couple of friends crossing Canada by rail, I've got you covered. My place is walking distance to restaurants and fashion shops, the University of Winnipeg, RBC Convention Centre, and downtown, and has great transit options including direct routes to Health Sciences Centre, MTS Centre, Via Rail and the airport. You’ll love my place because of the eclectic neighbourhood, comfy bed, period furniture, and the host!

The space

Hardwood floors, glass door handles and wood moulding around door and window frames give you a glimpse into the luxurious age when it was constructed, 1929. That's why I chose antique Art Deco waterfall furniture for your bedroom so your stay is something special compared to modern cookie cutter hotel rooms.

Out the Eastern window of your room, you can see the Golden Boy atop the Manitoba Legislature glistening in the morning sun. The second-floor views of the streetscape in midtown offer endless amusement.

I provide free Shaw Go Wifi for visitors with thousands of wifi points in the city.

This listing boasts an incredible Walkscore of 93.

Guest access

Check-in time is 4 PM, but be in touch about your travel plans. I'll try to get you in earlier. You will have access to the living/dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. The front entrance has an electric code and you will use a key for entry to the suite.

I will provide access to the laundry and a laundry card, which you can load cash onto.

Interaction with guests

There are two listed bedrooms on the opposite ends of this suite, and so you may be cohabiting the central common area with another guest or two. Our guests enjoy meeting one another, thought-provoking conversations over coffee in the morning and exchanging travel tips. I live a 5-minute walk away if a need arises.

I'd love to talk to you about your trip plans and help you to make the best use of your stay, and if you prefer privacy please let me know so that I give you space. For breakfast, I will provide the essentials you need to get your day started, like cereal, toast, fruit, yoghurt or eggs. We can discuss your dietary needs and preferences closer to the visit.

Other things to note

This building is old. Part of the charm that comes with a character building is the creaks of the floor or traffic/pedestrian sounds through thin windows. Please contact me if you are a light sleeper or if you have allergies, as a tiny fraction of guests found it to be an issue or required special food precautions.

I have indicated that my suite is safe for children, but please note that I do not have any children's accoutrement and you will need to bring that yourself. Additionally, during the cold months, my home is heated by steam radiators that can burn skin if the rad is carelessly touched. It is up to you to determine if this is a safe space for your children.

This is a great apartment within easy walking distance of downtown Winnipeg and loads of other great spots. The apartment is super clean and well maintained, and Michael is an amazingly communicative host who is always willing to help out and make you feel like you’re getting the most out of your stay. Thanks to Michael for warm accommodation. My son was very happy during the period of his stay. He liked the place so much, near to all amenities and bus route. The room is clean, as well as the kitchen. Only some garbage that forget to take out or clean. But nevertheless, everything is great according to my son, I'm looking forward to stay there someday when it's my turn to visit Winnipeg. Thanks again Michael.

Michael was super friendly and attentive to my needs. Provides a great array of breakfast options and keeps the space clean. Close to a number of local attractions/restaurants and the bus stop is right downstairs. Parking was easy enough too. One of my best Airbnb experiences thus far.
