Tucked away in a secret little cluster of cottages beside the ancient church of St Gennys in the most amazing cliff top location. Church Cottage is quite delightful and will provide a relaxing retreat at any time of year.

The space

The views from magical Church Cottage are simply breathtaking! From the lovely little garden in the front of this romantic detached cottage, guests can admire the panorama across fields and clifftops to Widemouth Bay and, on a clear day, Lundy Island. Tucked away in a secret little cluster of cottages beside the ancient church of St Gennys, Church Cottage is quite delightful and will provide a relaxing retreat at any time of year. A path winds down from the parking area past the neighbouring cottages and fields to the little picket fence and enclosed garden where guests can enjoy the fresh air and amazing scenery. The cottage has reversed accommodation with pretty bedrooms downstairs, and the compact open plan living room above. A stable door to the staircase acts as a stair-gate.

The seaside hamlet of Crackington Haven with its pub and friendly cafes is within walking distance down the hill. Nothing can quite compare to staying so close to the coastal path (a 15 minute walk from the cottage) with majestic views made even more spectacular by the height of the cliffs in this part of Cornwall. There is also a footpath just yards from the cottage which takes you on a beautiful 15 minute walk down to the beach at Crackington Haven. If you prefer to drive to the beach, it takes just five minutes. Set in such an unforgettable location, Church Cottage will tempt guests to return time after time. The Owner, who lives nearby, organises nature conservation walks across the dramatic National Trust coastline surrounding the cottage.

Accommodation
Ground Floor: Open plan living room with kitchen and dining areas. Bathroom with bath and hand shower attachment.
Lower Ground Floor: Master double bedroom and twin bedroom.
Exterior: Patio with exterior furniture, and BBQ, lawned area with sea views.

Facilities & Services
Heating is via central heating and a smokeless fuel stove. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven & hob, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer, microwave & washing machine / tumble drier. The sitting room has a digital TV & DVD player. WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.

Miscellaneous
Electricity, heating & bed linen are all included but you will need to provide your own towels. Alternatively, towels are available to hire at £8 per person. There is plenty of parking available. Some smokeless coal for the burner will be provided, thereafter this is available locally. Strictly only 1 well behaved dog over the age of 2 (NO PUPPIES) will be permitted at a small additional cost of £30 per week although please remember that you cannot leave dogs unattended in the cottage alone. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. There is a cot and highchair available on request.

General Booking Information
Arrival / Departure is normally a Saturday.
Short breaks are available during quieter periods.
£100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
Discounts available for couples staying for 7 nights outside the peak season, using one room only.

You must pay particular attention to details on how to leave your accommodation upon departure. Please note that in accordance with our booking conditions, it is your responsibility to:

1. Report and pay for any damages immediately to the Owner or housekeeper.
2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.

Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.

Me and my husband rent Church cottage for our honeymoon and it was AMAZING! Description and photos don't do justice to the cottage, it exceeds our expectations. It is cosy and homely, provided with everything you need for your confort. It is located in one of the best coastline in Cornwall, check out the folder with all the information about the local area, there are some great walks. The owner, Francis, was very friendly and welcoming, it was a pleasure to meet him. We strongly raccomend to stay at Church Cottage.

Location, location, location. This cottage is perfectly located with amazing views and beautiful footpaths on the doorstep. Basic but good amenities. Mobile reception and wifi not great but that could be seen as a blessing in disguise.
