Hello, I have a great basement studio apartment in the best part of Winnipeg....Wolseley! Enjoy the convenience of being centrally located to everything the city has to offer but nestled in a warm and vibrant community boasting mature trees, character homes, cafes, bakeries and shops.

The space

***PLEASE NOTE: If you are very tall, the space may not be suitable for you! The entry going down to the studio is awkward with luggage as the stairs are fairly narrow and steep, but you only need to do it once!***

The suite is located in the basement of my century old character home. It is a private space with it's own private entrance via electronic keypad and not shared with anyone else. You will have your very own space to enjoy your stay. It has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay in Winnipeg, including a kitchenette equipped with everything you need to cook a meal, a television with access to a Netflix account (you do not need an account), a very comfortable Queen size bed, large comfy sofa, lounge chair and a 3 piece bathroom. The space is ideal for 2, but can accommodate up to three if someone is willing to sleep on the couch! There are no laundry facilities in the apartment but laundry can be arranged if needed.
You will have access to outside space and your own private apartment complete with anything you could need including fresh linens (towels, facecloths, tea towels, etc) and a cozy duvet.
I am more than happy to advise on things to do around Winnipeg and give you info on my favorite places, restaurants or just let you know how to get around. If you consult the “Guide" section of my listing, I have included many nearby amenities and restaurants.
Most central locations are walk-able from the house. If you need to take transit there are several options within a few minutes' walk. There are so many options close by. Cafés, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, amenities, transit and bakeries!

There is an electronic keypad to enter the house, so you are able to access the suite regardless of your arrival time.
*I will consider small well behaved pets on an individual basis. Pets MUST be agreed to prior to booking.
* Parking is outdoors at the back of the house. Please let me know if you will have a vehicle with you.
-NON SMOKING
-Private entrance (the entrance going downstairs is quite tight. It is a little awkward with luggage, but only needs to be done once!)
-High Speed Wifi
-Street parking or parking space available
-quick walk to major bus routes and grocery store
-15 minute walk to University of Winnipeg

Guest access

There is an electronic keypad to enter the house, so you are able to access the suite at any time, day or night.

I have check in and check out times listed, however, unless a guest is arriving or departing the same day, I am extremely flexible.

Interaction with guests

I am more than happy to advise of things to do around Winnipeg and give you info on my favourite places, restaurants or just let you know how to get around. I often work from home, so I am always close by in the event you need anything.

Other things to note

*I will consider small-ish, well behaved, potty trained pets, who do not chew or scratch, or make excessive noise on an individual basis. There is an additional fee of $30 for your approved pet.
* There is no laundry in the unit but laundry can be arranged.
* This home is LGBTQ friendly! (I can't believe this even needs to be said!)
* Parking is included
*The cleaning fee is charged to cover a thorough clean of all areas by a professional cleaner in between guests. Please leave the space more or less as you found it. If additional cleaning is required, you will be asked to cover this charge.

*You are in a separate space but it is still in a shared home, so we ask that people be reasonably quiet and respectful. I will hear you and you will hear me . :) There are small animals in the home if allergies are a concern.

*This is a STRICTLY NON SMOKING home!

*I ask that you respect the check in/check out times unless we make other arrangements. The space is professionally cleaned in between, so if I have someone arriving the same day you are leaving, it's important that my cleaner can access the space. I am very flexible, and if no one is arriving that day, a late checkout or earlier check in is no problem. Alternately, I can always store your luggage, etc, upstairs!

The place was excellent! Great location and much bigger than I was expecting. The place was immaculately clean and well presented, with a booklet of information and suggestions for places to visit while in Winnipeg on the table alongside a thoughtful assortment of chocolate and candy. Though I didn't end up doing any cooking during my stay, since there were so many great places to eat close by, the kitchen was very well equipped so you'd have no trouble doing so. Rebecca has even gone so far as to provide Tupperware and zip lock bags for leftovers! The pantry also included basic items like oil and seasonings and an extensive assortments of tea bags and coffee and a few other items. Being there in winter, I was a bit concerned about how cold the place might get, but that was not an issue at all, with the place being kept at a consistently warm temperature. A great respite from the cold outside! The shower was hot with excellent water pressure and the bed was very soft and comfortable. It is clear that Rebecca has gone to a lot of trouble to ensure her guests are comfortable and provided for during their stay. Thanks Rebecca for your hospitality, it was very much appreciated! I would definitely stay again and recommend your place to anyone visiting Winnipeg!

It definitely is private, and the location is great if you take the bus or you would need to eat out somewhere, the place is safe and you can walk around at night. We stayed for 9 nights. My sister arrived around midnight so we get to meet Rebecca the next day. She was on her way out (like outside the gate) when she noticed us getting out of the house that she went back to meet us. She is so accommodating and approachable. She also helped us with our laundry. The place is clean and got everything you need if you want to cook or just heat something in the microwave. There's some cereals too and a variety of tea to choose from (if you are a tea person). There's coffee if you're not. For entertainment, you can read books or watch tv. My sister and I got hooked watching Suits on Netflix. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.
