Our home is nestled in 200 acres of conservation land with a magnificent pond view. Only minutes to the finest ocean beaches, commuter rail to Boston, historic Salem, Marblehead, Gloucester, Rockport (Cape Ann). Easy drive to coastal NH and Maine. Step out of our house and you are on an extensive network of trails for your enjoyment; walking, hiking, fishing, and mountain biking. This is a ranch house, in a pristine rural setting with easy access to Boston by car and Commuter Rail (a stop in Hamilton) and nearby all of the North Shore cultural and recreational activities. Our home provides year round comfort utilizing geothermal heating and cooling as an alternative energy source.

We offer a clean, peaceful and comfortable room with a bathroom and shower all to yourself, located at the opposite end of the house from our bedroom and living space. It is a double/full bed with a dresser and bureau, and a closet with space for you to use. The bed has 100% cotton sheets and down comforter. We have an adjacent and larger second room with a queen futon, and desk. If it is available and you prefer it, please ask. The bathroom is steps from the bedroom; it is tiled, clean and modern. It will be our pleasure to have available for you in the morning coffee, tea, fresh seasonal fruit, yogurt, cereal and fixings.

Guests are delighted with the abundant beauty and comfort. They feel well taken care of, and that their stay was especially relaxing. We hear repeatedly from guests that they can't remember having had such a sound night's sleep! People leave feeling rested, recharged and filled with nature. The house feels remote, but in fact we are close to so much to see and do in quintessential New England. We have a sit-on kayak for you to use on the pond across the street. We have a large screened in porch to enjoy the outdoors for breakfast or anything else. There is no boat noise. just the sounds of the bull frogs and owls.

The surrounding towns of Essex and Ipswich are famous for fried clams and the finest fresh seafood, as well as an antique lover's paradise. Hamilton is home to Myopia Hunt Club, also minutes away is America's oldest tea house. Close by is Peabody Essex Museum. Crane Beach in Ipswich (ranked in the top 25 of U.S. beaches by Trip Advisor's travelers), Singing Beach in Manchester By the Sea, Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester, all within 20 minutes drive from our house and wonderful to take long walks at any time of year. Rockport, Gloucester, Salem and Marblehead all offer rich historic (and haunted) attractions such as The House of Seven Gables, Salem Witch Museum, and on the harbors there are cruises, schooners and tour boats; there's even a ferry to Boston from Salem.

We look forward to getting to know you and share our love of the region. We are happy to offer you suggestions for dining, recreating, history, nature, city life, day trips. Having raised our two sons in the house, we have always taken advantage of the wonders that surround us here in Cape Ann. We are very excited to be a part of making your visit to New England a memorable one.

My husband Al and I are grateful every day to live in such an amazing spot, surrounded by abundant natural beauty. Each season brings its own wonders; ever-changing sunsets from our pond view, the sounds of owls, bull frogs, and other night creatures, canoes and kayaks on the pond, in a winter freeze watching ice skaters through the living room window glide across the frozen pond. We love to walk the trails that surround the house and share the beauty with others. We are beach lovers, enjoy creative cooking and entertaining. We care about the environment and try to do our part to make a difference. We both drive diesel cars, installed a geo-thermal system from which we get all of our heat and a/c from the earth, independent from the use of oil or gas, we recycle and compost. We were both raised in the Boston area, met when we were 18 years old, and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder back in the days when Celestial Seasonings was just getting started as a cottage business. We love to travel; we both have a great aptitude (or you might say obsession) for travel research and in finding amazing off the beaten track places to go and experiences to have. We both work full time; we were entrepreneurs in our younger years with various businesses from making and selling jewelry to put ourselves through college, to owning a Blessing Pot business, a bagel company, a chimney sweep business, and more. I spent many years as a psychotherapist and involved with a nationally known personal and spiritual growth workshop called Opening the Heart. We are facilitators of the workshop at Kripalu and Omega Institute. We are also both in sales. We are open-minded, open hearted and LGBTQ welcoming of course. We raised two amazing sons in this house; its a home that has been filled with lots of love, respect and acceptance. They continue to be our teachers by helping us to stretch our perceptions and ways of viewing the world and human kind. Sharing with people all that we love and appreciate about Boston, the North Shore and the rest of the region (ME, VT, NH, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket all within a 3 hour radius) gives us a lot of pleasure. We share our love for travel and meeting wonderful people by hosting. We are enriched as a result of you coming into our home and lives. We look forward to being a part of your journey if life takes you our direction.
