We had a really lovely week's stay here. Konstantin was obviously a little nervous at first but was very welcoming and very eager to make us feel at home and provide us with info on what there was to do in and around Gräfenroda. He was happy for us to check in early due to transport times. He speaks very good English. It might have been nice to have been shown around a little bit more because at first it was a little unclear as to where we would find everything but the place was pretty self-explanatory and Konstantin was always around if you needed showing where something was so this didn't prove to be a problem.
The place itself was basically a flat on the first floor, above Konstantin's house. It has everything you need for a short stay included and you will also be welcome to use the larger, shared kitchen downstairs if you would like. We found that we didn't need to. The place has a few oddities that you might expect from an old house (eg. the sink gurgles and whilst the bath is lovely, there isn't currently a proper stand for the shower head) so if this is the sort of thing that bothers you then you may not enjoy it as much as we did. The place has a lovely feel to it, anyway, and the indoor log burner and balcony are excellent touches. There is even a little foosball table!
The location is very pretty and we found plenty to do in our week's stay, mostly just exploring the forest and the town. There is a supermarket, a park and a bus stop all within walking distance. Local transport is not bad at all.
