Brenda and I have lived in France since January 2003. We were both born in London and grew up there during fifties and sixties. I remember fondly working in Soho 1960-63, Ronnie Scotts in Gerrard St., National Gallery in my lunch break, the Irish pub in St. Giles Circus, and the very interesting people I worked with. I also drove London Buses, which looking back, I think was the best job I ever had, except for the unsocial hours.
Brenda was acquiring a range of skills in soft furnishing, which stood her in good stead as she later worked in her family business, and then branched out on her own as an interior designer, where she gained contracts in some very prestigious houses in the Home Counties. I hope that these skills are evident to the visiters to our holiday homes.
We came to France when we sold our shop and business, just as something new, and an adventure. We had spent some holidays here, liked the more relaxed atmosphere and climate, and basically just 'went for it'.
