Are you looking for an authentic Sri Lankan experience where you can relax in the privacy of your own ‘home away from home’? Casa Tangalle offers you just that, a two-bedroom Sri Lankan style private villa nestled between the lagoon and Mawella Beach, one of the best beaches on the South Coast. Surrounded by nature with the comforts of a simple tropical home, you can sleep to the sound of rolling waves and wake up to birdsong.

The space
We are a small family run villa offering homestyle accommodation for up to 4 people. There are 2 air-conditioned bedrooms, a private swimming pool and garden with lagoon views, a living room with sofa and tv, wifi throughout the property, a full kitchen for you to cook your own meals if you wish, or we can arrange delicious home cooked Sri Lankan meals on request. You can also wander down the beach and find a variety of places to eat and drink or hop in a tuk tuk and explore the many delights of Tangalle.

If the occasional monkey running across the roof, lizard wandering through the garden, frogs jumping in the swimming pool or gecko on the ceiling is a problem, this villa may not be for you. It's a relaxed, happy place with tropical animal sounds and wildlife aplenty. Our building and facilities are simple and rustic yet comfortable, made from local and antique materials and full of character. We do not offer hotel style accommodation or perfectly manicured grounds, we embrace the natural surroundings and enjoy the golden sandy beach and the natural bird rich lagoon. If you love nature and are looking for an authentic experience away from crowds of tourists and stuffy hotels you will love us and our place, a place where you can truly relax and immerse yourself in Sri Lanka.

Some details about the area:

The beach is a short 50 metre walk and is one of the safest to swim at in the area. The long stretch of beach is perfect for morning or sunset walks or simply to find a spot to sit and unwind. Some of the other activities in the surrounding area include surfing, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and cycling.

Our staff have extensive local knowledge and can arrange sightseeing tours, activities or transport. Some nearby places to visit include the Mulkirigala Rock Monastery, Kudawella Blowhole and many other stunning beaches and places to explore. We are always available to help with arrangements or answer any questions.

Other facilities we offer on request include laundry, home cooked fresh Sri Lankan meals, scooter rental.

The property offers free parking. Colombo Bandaranaike Airport is 207kms from the villa and the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is 73kms. Mawella Lagoon Airport is only 2.6km away, where you can arrive in style by seaplane. Airport transfers can be arranged on request.

Tangalle City is approximately 8km away. Here you will find banks, supermarkets, post office, local food market, hospitals and many shops for all your needs.
