Our home is two 1863 row houses combined to create a modern, light-filled environment that brings the outside in at every window. You can easily walk, bike, subway, bus, taxi or Uber to everything Philly has to offer. We're a few blocks south of Center City, yet so peaceful, you’ll actually hear birds and see fireflies.

The space
Come home to a tranquil, comfortable and private guest room and bath in a spacious, art-filled house. The bed is a high-end European-made one-flip queen convertible sofa with a natural latex mattress that guests tell us delivers the best nights’ sleep they’ve had in ages (no exaggeration). Feel free to leave the bed open during your stay, or fold it and use the sofa or nearby desk for reading and work.

Guest access
Make yourself comfortable in our first floor spaces, or enjoy the outdoor patio. If you're a baseball fan, or you just can't fall asleep without meditating on the roof, feel free to let us know. In winter, there might be a fire in the fireplace, in summer, you might find ice tea on the counter.

Other things to note
Your room is one flight up and unfortunately, there is no alternative to the stairs. We have a smallish, friendly dog and a reclusive cat and are militantly smoke-free and late-night partying-free. Your stay includes continental breakfast and coffee or tea, access to our first floor rooms and patio (see photos). Cyclists and bikes are welcome! (Extra guests are not.)

Location

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Explore a lively, diverse, super-convenient family neighborhood dotted with trendy coffee shops and yoga studios: think Brooklyn, but with a distinctly Philadelphia history. You can watch the famous Anderson Monarchs youth baseball team practice across the street (from our roof!). Walk two blocks to pubs and ethnic restaurants, a pharmacy and a YMCA with pool. After a long day of travel or meetings, there’s plenty of foodie fun to be had right around the corner or in nearby Rittenhouse Square or in ultra-hip Passayunk Square. Just a few blocks away, the wonderful Schuylkill Banks trail runs along the river (and up to Fairmount Park) to the delight of runners, walkers and cyclists.

During your stay
We are busy, self-employed creative types but never farther than a phone call or text away. As gregarious travel-lovers who have lived in Philadelphia for three decades, we can direct you to the city’s best art, theatre, nature, food, wine and coffee. We’re happy to chat when the timing works, or help get you settled and give you space. As a plus, one of us speaks fluent Spanish and German.
