Perfect! We arrived very late (2am ish Saturday), and the lockbox was perfect. House easy to find, parking right in the driveway. Everything we needed was easily accessible and the shower was great! Bed was incredibly comfy and the entire home was clean. We didn't use the amenities, as we were just there to sleep and shower, but everything looked good. Communication was never an issue and I'd 100% stay here again!!

I only stayed one night and the owners accommodated me checking in early, which I appreciated. Super fast communication with the host(s), even when I was fighting with the lock box to get the key out. The spot was modern, clean, in a quiet neighborhood and had plenty of room. It is part of a duplex but there was nobody on the other side (upon discussion with the groundskeeper, I found out that that side may be being renovated). I used it to crash after a wedding nearby but it'd be perfect for folks hoping to get away and enjoy the quiet of the Maine burbs!

My hubby and I have been Airbnbers since the beginning and have used it here and abroad with great success so we don't have much experience leaving a less than stellar review and it does feel awkward but needs to be done to spare others our experience. It is right off the highway and close to Freeport and does have a good amount of space, decent furnishings and the hostess was communicative, so those are the pros. The cons are that when we walked up to the apt we noticed that all the windows were cracked open and when we walked in there was a big box fan going, which is never a good sign. In spite of those attempts the place smelled like an Autobody shop. We were alarmed, automatically contacted the hostess asking about it, thinking it was a furnace leak and she said she was aware of the smell which was due to a kerosene leak. Not sure if it was due to that leak or not, but there was also no drinkable water in the apartment. It needed to be boiled or brought in. Neither of these known issues were mentioned in the listing. There was also random leftover food in the fridge, some of which had seen better days, and people's garbage and recycling in the trash. According to the hostess we are the only ones bothered by these issues so it might be us but we're typically pretty laid back so I don't think so. They did partially refund our stay which was nice but honestly didn't make up for a very uncomfortable night or the nasty sinus headache I woke up with this AM. Not a great start to our hard earned vacation. Once these issues get resolved it would make for a fine stay but until then......

Response from Phillip:
I send each guest a document outlining the nuances of the stay, including the need to bring in bottled water to drink. I also remove all food garbage and odorous trash from the unit. In the case that you're speaking of, there was a few pieces of paper recycling, in the bathroom trash, as well as bottles/cans in their designated bin, and some dirt from the dustpan that I collected from the floor to prepare for your stay. I intentionally leave leftover food (eggs, cream cheese, etc.) in the fridge from previous guests, in case the next guest needs something. I had the windows open and fan on because it is summer in Maine and the unit doesn't have AC. I wanted the unit to be a comfortable temperature. I do this for all guests, if the weather permits. Lastly, you got the fullest refund that AirBnB would let us give, which was everything but your service fee, and you got it, or at least received notice of getting it, within 8 hours of your complaint.

Very simple and secluded 2 bedroom home. The check in is very easy and Amanda is very responsive to questions. Great value for the money and a perfect base for a short stay in the Freeport / Yarmouth area.

Phillips place was very nice. Both the rooms were clean and it was nice having a kitchen to cook in. Having laundry available was a plus since we are on a 10 day trip and packed minimally. We were able to get some recommendations on dining out and ended up eating in Portland which was not a very far drive. I would recommend this spot!
