Situated on the banks of the river Lym in the heart of old Lyme Regis 'The Works' is a historic building believed to have once been the Moot Hall. Recently restored it is now a large and comfortable family home merely 2 minutes walk from the beach. Our place is close to art and culture, restaurants and dining, the beach, and parks.

The space
Having been recently refurbished this comfortable, spacious and warm bedroom suite has beautiful reclaimed wood floors that give character and charm. A large dual function shower adds comfort in the room's handy ensuite bathroom. 'The Works' sits beside the picturesque River Lym and alongside the leat that services Town Mill.

Guest access
Breakfast - of fresh fruit, yoghurt, oats, nuts, dried fruit, milk, fruit juice, bread and jam, tea and coffee - is generally served downstairs in the large open plan kitchen/dining area. We do not offer cooked breakfasts.

Other things to note
We are a family with three boys all at local schools. We have two very friendly dogs and we will be happy to welcome you into our home. We tend to rise early and generally go to bed around 10pm - 11pm.

Location

Lyme Regis, United Kingdom

'The Works' is ideally situated for easy access to all parts of Lyme Regis. Less than two minutes to the beach - on the way you might like to sup a pint of Town Mill brewery's artisan beers, dine at Millside restaurant and admire the work of local artists and crafts folk at the galleries and workshops at Town Mill. Town Mill bakery - a great location for breakfast or a lunchtime snack is also just a moment's walk away. Oh, and also the best fish and chips in Lyme are just down the road as well! Your stay here puts you in the heart of historical Lyme Regis within 5 minutes walk of all main attractions - including the Cobb Harbour itself, Hix's famous Oyster and Fish House and all the beaches. A wide range of restaurants, pubs, cafes, cinema and shops are all no more than a short and pleasant stroll from your door step. Jump in the car and within ten minutes you are walking at Golden Cap, dining at River Cottage Axminster or hunting for fossils on Charmouth Beach.

We are a worldly family who have lived in NZ for many years and now have created a cosy home in Lyme Regis. Kirsten is a conservation biologist working in research and is originally from Shetland in Scotland. Paul is a garden designer. Also in our house are three teenage sons – Rumi, Felix and Merlin. Our house is quirky, comfortable, light and cosy. We are in the centre of Lyme and can walk to the beach in two minutes. We have two dogs and love to travel, surf and have fun. Our favourite destinations are where you can observe great wildlife, surf, and jump in the rivers.
