The house is situated in an old hamlet called 'De Kandelaar'. Nowadays this hamlet is part of the city Rotterdam. It is a silent spot of nature between the big and buzzy cities.

It is the perfect spot to combin nature with the city!

Only 1,5km from public transport, 8 km from the historic city center of Delft (by bike or by car) and 12 km form the city centre of Rotterdam. The house is situated in a nature resort called 'Recreactie gebied Midden Delfland'

The space

The house is suitable for 2 persons. Downstairs you will find the main entrance, the bathroom/toilet and a nice, modern kitchen. On the first floor you will find a large living room and a large bed room with a nice luxueus bed.

Guest access

The house has it's own main entrance, bathroom/toilet and modern kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator, deep freezer and oven.
If you would lik to sit/chill oudsite you can use the lounge sets on the farmyard.

Interaction with guests

The house is completely separated from the main house. You can always reach us by phone (preferably by app for questions or comments between 8.00 am & 22.00 pm)

Other things to note

On the farmyard there are three little companies situated. You will find a blacksmith shop, carpenter workshop and a classic motorbikes restoration workshop. Most of the workshops are only available from Monday till Friday. Only the classic motorbike workshop is available on Saturday's also.

Also know, we have a (very sweet) dog called Izzi. She is very curious to meet you!

A true Dutch experience - close to a canal. Place was amazing - lovely wood fire. We really enjoyed staying here and wish it could have been for more than one night.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy barn. I even had time to read a book by the fire. Sadly, we had a very busy schedule so didn’t spend as much time at the barn as we wanted, but this certainly won’t be our last visit!

Wonderful place. So pretty with great walks. We were just there for 2 nights after a lot of travelling and it was a wonderful place to relax. Very friendly and welcoming hosts also. 100% recommended!!

It is indeed a cozy barn! Easy location to find on GPS, although the tarred roads are narrow& passing another vechile is hair raising! The kitchen is well equipped & we enjoyed the wooden stove upstairs! We made a hearty fire at night, reminiscing about the day, planning the next! Nice area for walking/running.we could have stayed a week if we had time!

We stayed with Marieke and Arne for four nights in September/October 2017 and had a great time. The apartment is well equipped and very clean, the wood-burning stove is great. The location is fantastic as well, with Schiedan (1 hour) and Delft (1.5 hours) within walking distance. Our dog loved the stay, there was plenty of room in the apartment for him to get out of the way if he needed to, plus the courtyard area so he could have a wander around. The apartment is brilliantly situated for dog walks with many trails available from right outside the door. Very peaceful, well equipped, cosy place to stay, but still within easy reach of civilisation. Fantastic.

If you are looking for a cosy and quiet accommodation in a wonderful rural area you found it here! We have spent one week in Marieke´s and Arne´s beautiful guesthouse and enjoyed it. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary needs (you don´t even have to bring towels!), so does the bathroom. The living room is fantastic as it is extremely large and has a cosy oven. Sometimes we where wondering why it was a little louder in the bedroom (airport and Motorway a few km away) than anywhere else in the guesthouse, but this is not a really negative thing. The area around the wonderful farmhouse from Marieke and Arne is breathtaking!!! Go and explore it yourself! :-)
