My place has great views, is close to restaurants and dining, the beach, snorkelling and diving, is family-friendly with laid-back nightlife. You’ll love my place because of the views, the location, and the people. The villa is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with older children).

Interaction with guests

My manager, Nyoman, and his wife live off-site, but come to the villa to cook breakfast and clean each day at a convenient time for guests. Nyo is readily available when needed at other times.

Other things to note

Please note that the pool is deep and the property has an elevated deck area so is not suited to families with toddlers or non-swimming children.

The villa is in the most perfect location above the small village of Nyuhtabel. Its a stones throw from Candidasa's main drag but feels like you are right in the countryside. The position of the villa, perched high up on the mountain above the village was spectacular. The front balcony had an incredible 180 degree view that went from the ocean and beach to the lush green forest and mountain range dominated by Gunung Agung - with the colour of the volcano changing throughout the day. The villa had simple furnishings but we didn't need much as we spent most of our time on the balcony or in the pool. It is a great location to use as a home base and we day tripped to the sights such as Tirta Gangga, Tenganan, Taman Ujung Water Palace, Ahmed and Almapura. The villa is built over two floors with a bedroom, living area and kitchenette on each, but as we were a couple on our own, Peter kindly let us book out the whole villa at the price for two. we didn't access the downstairs area so it felt like the right size for us just using the upstairs area. The pool is also on this level straight outside the bedroom and the glorious view from the bedroom window makes for a great way to wake up. We highly recommend the villa. Just a couple of things though we think we should highlight - The villa is not accessible by car or scooter. One way of getting there is by climbing up several sets of stone stairs and walking along a dirt path up from the main street, or up two sets of stairs from the closest road access. This would not normally be a problem for us and adds to the charm of the location, but my husband is waiting on hip surgery and it was incredibly painful for him to come and go from the villa so I would suggest that this villa is not for you if anyone has mobility issues. Also, the air conditioning is only in the bedroom and although there are fans in the living area it can still be very hot inside times. The bedroom and the pool became sanctuaries during the heat of the day. It is incredibly private too so you can go about with little clothes on in the heat and skinny dipping in the pool is an option. Peter was very responsive in arranging our booking and transport etc. All in all we loved it and post hip operation would not hesitate to come back.

Perfect place to relax. Beautiful views, good people around. There was a construction next door, but they didn't make too much noise. Breakfast was good, especially banana pancakes. Nothing to complain about.

Great location for beautiful views, peace and quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. It is extremely hot in this part of Bali so the saving grace is the air conditioned bedroom and the pool. The main level space is great. Could use more light in the central seating area at night. There is a lower level with full bed, bath and kitchen, although it is a sauna if you choose to stay down there. We did need Wifi for some work, sadly the connect here does not work at all so we had to make frequent trips down the hill around the corner to the wonderful fully air conditioned cafe, The Loaf. The staff are amazing. Pleasant to talk with and help plan your stay and cook you up a great breakfast and Balinese Coffee. Recommend this place for stunning views and peace and quiet. To truly retreat.

Response from Peter:
Thanks for your comments, Pamella. Normally, the three fans and the many windows in the lower level act to keep that area relatively cool but I have now requested my manager to investigate air-conditioning there as well. I realise the issue with the WiFi can be frustrating and it does fail at times given the elevated location of the villa. I apologize for that and am endeavouring to have it sorted. Kind regards, Peter

Spectacular siting looking out at mountains, rice fields and the sea, and a wonderful space to relax in. Nyoman, Wayan and Ketut could not have been more hospitable, and Peter more responsive via remote. A lot to do in the area including rice field trekking, Tenganan, white sands beach, and nearby temples. This was our favorite stay in Bali and we could have stayed more weeks.
