Area is a student/residential part of town & has a nice safe/family feel with Harrison Gardens and Union Canal only a 10 second walk away.
The cool Bruntsfield area is a 10 mins walk - coffee shops, bars, boutiques and restaurants. My flat is ideal for couples or solo adventurers. (No wifi in flat)

Gina was a friendly host and left us some milk and beers in the fridge which was a nice touch. As we were flying up to Edinburgh after work we didn't get in till late but she was happy to meet us at the flat and show us around. The flat itself is a little old however considerin…

Lovely cosy flat that provided the perfect base from which to explore the Edinburgh fringe, with most of the main venues only a 20-30min walk away. Situated in a lovely area that felt safe which was brilliant when walking back late in the evenings. Gina was the perfect host, welc…

Gina was great and met me in town to drop off keys. Communication was great throughout our stay and when booking. The flat is basic but was fine for us for two nights. The neighbourhood, however, didn't feel safe after dark - I wouldn't recommend this for a single woman.

Response from Gina:
Thanks for the feedback Jeremy. As you stated - the flat is perfect for a short stay as a base to visit Edinburgh with the majority guests spending most of their holiday out of the flat rather than in it . I note your comments regarding the neighbourhood although I myself lived in the flat myself for over 9 years with no problems at all and my last two tenants were single ladies and never experienced any issues whatsoever. It is a neighbourhood of Edinburgh well known for its population of elderly people (there is a nursing home located on the street) families and students so the street is often 'busy'. I know all the owners and tenants in the block as we have formed an Association and security and maintenance are our key priorities. The listing states clearly that there is no TV and that it is a one bedroom. cosy flat. One bedroom flats come in all shapes and sizes due to the age and structure of the old Edinburgh tenement blocks. I note the cleaning comments - the flat was professionally cleaned 2 days before your arrival.

I live in Edinburgh and have enjoyed being a guest myself of Airbnb over the last 3 years. I have been shown some fantastic hospitality from Lima to NYC, from Copenhagen to Palma, I love the Airbnb concept - meeting the locals and heading off the beaten track. I normally have a t…
