A Breathtaking Connemara landscape right on your doorstep in the authentic Gaeltacht (Irish Speaking) region. The space

A Breathtaking Connemara landscape right on your doorstep in the authentic Gaeltacht (Irish Speaking) region. Once the teacher's residence of the adjoining tiny schoolhouse, the house is equipped for modern living but still maintains an old time charm. A quiet and amazingly beautiful retreat away from the tourist traps.

The listing is unique because it is located in a very special part of Ireland, a place where tour buses don't quite get to!
Your stay will be had alongside the people who have lived in the Gaeltacht for generations. What makes it even more special is that the house is situated right on the water and the views are spectacular.

The house also adjoins a small two room school house that is no longer in use. It was built as the teacher's residence in 1902 but has been completely modernized inside. The stone fireplace however stands as a reminder of times past.
There is a small kitchen with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and all the kitchen tools you will need to cook during your stay at the house. There are also some non perishable food items such as salt, spices, vinegar, etc. There is a washer, dryer, towels, a hair dryer and a hot shower. There is a separate dining room with two tables.

The upstairs area of the house has a large space considered as one bedroom and two very small bedrooms off of it. The large space has a double bed (which has a curtain rail around it for privacy) and the two small bedrooms have bunk beds where the bottom bed is a double and the top a single. Children must be supervised at all times as the sea comes right up to the back of the house. There is ample parking for several cars and a boat ramp should you decide to bring one.

You will be greeted by a local lad (who also runs the cutest little shop for your local needs) who will show you around and answer all your questions.

I want to interact with guests and expect mutually honest relationships by email.

The location is unique and authentic and you will be right in the heart of the Irish Speaking Community. You will see the locals on curraghs (traditional boats) collecting sea weed and hand fishing for mackerel and hear their stories.

Depending on the time of year you can burn wood or turf on the fire or sit outside and take in the views. Aran Islands are only ten miles away by sea. There are numerous coves, beaches and inlets to explore along the rugged coastline. Children from all around Ireland come to stay in houses in this community during the summer months to learn the language so you may notice them on your walks. There are two bikes available if you wish to cycle the winding roads of Cnoc down to Tra Ban (white beach) or you could venture to Carraroe the nearest village if you are missing a supermarket!

Golf Anyone? Connemara Isles Golf Club is located in close by Lettermore. This distinctive island course offers a unique opportunity to play golf on the edge of the Atlantic ocean while enjoying the breathtaking views of Cill Chiaráin Bay, Cnoc Leitir Móir and Cnoc Mordáin. This 9 hole golf course is a golfers gem. After the game relax in the friendly atmosphere of Irelands only thatched club house and experience the magical beauty of the Irish language

You might also want to take a 50 minute drive to the more 'tourist driven' villages of Clifden or Roundstone and enjoy some of the traditional music in the pubs and shops that are more plentiful there.

It is advisable to have a car as there is no public transportation or taxis available.

You will be greeted by a local lad who will provide you with the key, show you around and answer all your questions.

The views were spectacular. The neighbourhood dogs friendly and fun. The house was very well equipped and charming to reside in. Its advised to get your own car, which is perfect to see the sights. But as a secluded gateway experience, taxi firms from airports hav(URL HIDDEN) no trouble getting to the place.

The house is very cozy and beautifully located. It has a fully equipped kitchen and everything else we needed. The space was just enough to fit 5 adults. The island you're on is calm and relaxing, the people are very nice. There's even a little shop. What you have to consider is that there are a lot of dogs around the house and in the streets (we liked them). Angela as well as the local caretakers of the house have always been available for any questions and we're very flexible about the check-in and out. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place!

My mother, myself and our dogs had a lovely time staying in Angela's house, which is in a really idyllic and peaceful location in the heart of Connemara. The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay and the whole process couldn't have gone more smoothly. The Wifi, which we had been concerned about, worked perfectly. Would definitely stay here again

Very nice surroundings. Comfortable house. No problems. Not for people afraid of dogs (we liked them a lot, but there are plenty).

Beautiful area, recommended rental! The house is cozy, has great views, and everything you could need. Pretty secluded, but nearby other home, and situated well for exploring Connemara, even daytrips into Galway Town were fine.

We had a nice stay in this house, which was mostly as it is described and which corresponded to the pictures. However, the upstairs large space cannot be considered as a real room and the curtain isn't enough for privacy, at least for a family in which every child is a grown-up. The cleaning wasn't perfect, but it was okay. The kitchen is also well equipped, and the living room is small but comfortable (just enough for our family of five adults). For those who are interested, the wi-fi access is charged. Nevertheless, the view is absolutely breathtaking. The house is located on a beautiful island, far away from everything so it's ideal to get away from urban life and discover another part of Connemara. We can watch the tide from the windows and we can enjoy wonderful walks with amazing landscapes.

We really enjoyed our stay in Angela's house. The house is perfectly located to explore Connemara. Our children enjoyed the spacious rooms and the sea view is really fantastic. Padraig, the house caretaker, was always available and helpful. We definitely recommend to stay here!
