Enjoy this romantic spot surrounded by Outback nature.

If you love nature, photography, farm life, animals, birdwatching, stargazing, artesian water soaks, walking, relaxing, rugged landscapes, stunning skies and sunsets, then Wellshot might be the place for you.

The cottage fronts our baby lake and is complete with a jetty and much bird life. Great spot for morning coffee or afternoon drinks.

The space
Royston Station sits roughly 64 km southwest of Longreach, along the main highway toward Jundah and Stonehenge. The drive is fully sealed up to our turnoff, followed by a short 4km dirt track leading to your front gate.

Wellshot Cottage is set near a small lake and is quite secluded from the other two cottages.

Once used as accommodation for station hands, this cottage was once joined to Weldon Cottage, another cottage nearby. Nowadays, the cottage still carries a rustic charm, now complemented by practical comforts such as flyscreens, air conditioning, and a flushing toilet.

The front verandah is set up for relaxing, perfect for unwinding and watching the world go by.

Just through the front door on the left is the kitchen / dining room area. Further inside is the toilet area which also contains storage cupboards. Looking to the right is the lounge room area.

Through the right verandah door is the bedroom space which contains a comfy queen size bed.

Wellshot Cottage is not air conditioned with a reverse cycle aircon but has a ceiling fan, as well as a mobile air conditioning unit that you can fill with water. In the cooler months, this will be more than enough to keep you cool.

Outside the back door is the unique outdoor eco shower complete with fairy lights. It is housed inside a corrugated iron water tank. The water is heated by lighting a fire under the "donkey". This could also double as a fireplace to sit around in the evening.

This little lake, just a few steps from the verandah, offers a peaceful spot to relax. The jetty is an ideal place to sit in the morning or evening, taking in the birdlife and the ever-changing sky stretching out above.

There is a small building between the other two cottages on the other side of the lake that house a larger fridge/freezer, washing machine, big sink etc for your convenience. It also stores equipment for use on the lake. This building and amenities is a shared space with all guests.

Guest access
The cottage space is completely yours. The little store room building with washing machine, pool noodles, etc etc, is there for your use too.

We ask that you stay within the cottage precinct for your own safety and our peace of mind as this is a fully functional working property.

Any gates that you come through that are closed, we ask you to close them behind you. otherwise you may have some goats, cows or roos coming to visit you on your front verandah.

We would love to show you around if our time and property activities allow, so just let us know if that is something you would like to do.
