Lieutenant Island is an actual island in Wellfleet on the bay side of Cape Cod. During some high tides (during fuller moons), the tide may cover the causeway to the island and make it inaccessible for cars for up to two hours. It's a very quiet and secluded setting and ideal for rejuvenation. During low tide, the beach extends quite far out and makes it excellent for walks, clamming, shell collecting, & kite flying. High tides are great for swimming and kayaking.
