We had a wonderful stay at Wood n' Water! We were a group of 4 friends (2 couples). Chris is a great host and quickly responded to any queries we had. Protection Island is an amazing place to stay. There are no stores on the island so you have to buy food before you catch the little ferry over (although there are quite a lot of provisions leftover from previous guests). Make sure to use the wagon at the top of the stairs once you get off the ferry to transport your belongings (very helpful!). The home is a short 10 minute walk from the Dinghy Dock Pub. The home is larger than we expected. It is clean, quiet and cozy, and felt like a home away from home. We were welcome to use Chris' kayaks and paddleboard during our stay, which was fun! There were also beach towels, toiletries, sunscreen and bug spray for us to use, which was great. We had a few issues with the shower on the first day (don't try and change the pressure setting!), but we figured it out. We found quite a few bugs and spiders inside, but what can you expect from a home in the woods? The caretaker, Francois, lives out the back. We saw him more often than we expected to, but he was always nice and helpful. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this home to others! The home is up for sale, so it may not be available as an Airbnb for much longer. Take advantage while you still can!

We were very much looking forward to a long over due women's getaway, just my best friend and I. We loved the island and the little adventure getting there until we arrived at the house. It was not properly cleaned by any stretch of the imagination. While the bathrooms were nice and clean the kitchen, living room and bedrooms were not. There was dog hair (i have allergies) everywhere and it looked like the carpet in the main bedroom hadn't been cleaned in ages, and it smelled of wet dog. We are pretty easy going people but even after WE cleaned up we couldn't truly settle in or feel comfy. Our trip was effectively ruined. I do believe that this home could be lovely and a fun getaway but unfortunately this was not our experience.

We had an absolutely delightful stay at Chris' place! It was everything we hoped for and more. It was quiet, cozy and comfortable. We arrived in the dark of night but in the morning we were met with glorious surroundings on a beautiful, largely car-free island. Our only regret was that our stay was too short. We will love to stay here again.
