I have a doggie which I'll take with me when you stay here.
If your dog won't eat up everything, and you wipe the wet doggie when it is yucky out, it's welcome to stay also.
I would prefer it if you smoked only in the screen porch or the other outside porches and not in the house.

Bring your house slippers! (no shoes in house)

Donna's home is absolutely cozy and relaxing. This is the perfect place for relaxation and retreat. Definitely bring slippers because the floor is cold. Donna stays in a trailer on the land but we never met. One thing to note- there is an added pet fee of $20 per pet per night that wasn't listed but after requesting the booking, Donna asked us to leave it in cash on the table. That didn't feel right to us and we would have stayed somewhere else if we had known about this fee sooner. However, the whole experience was nice and I would recommend staying here if you're looking for a country getaway. The fireplace and hot tub were the best. Bright stars at night, the sounds of birds all the time, and the occasional spider inside the house....all part of country living.

Dear Alibaster- Thank you for your honest feedback. So sorry about the hot tub. If it hasn't been used in a while, dirt gathers. I'll fix that if I can. Also, I've been in an ongoing conversation with the site about pet fees listed. I now just have it mentioned in my listing. Come back sometime and I will make up for the "value part" of your review!! Best to you dear! db

What a gorgeous place! A true gem. Everything went smoothly. Donna is great. Super comfy bed! Clean + bright. Perfect for my two day retreat. Love the land. Bonfires every night. Hot tub was perfect. Porch swing every morning. Loved eating dinner on the screened in porch. Close to the beach too! I can't wait to go back.

This is such a serene, lovely place! I came with a group of girls for a weekend and it was the perfect spot. It's so green and quiet, but close to great wineries, breweries, and the beach. The house is spacious and there's everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!!

Donna has a very special place. We won't forget picking blueberries, saying good morning to the frogs, sitting by the fire pit, and all the interesting and cool touches in every nook of the house. Our dog liked it so much, he broke out of the house while we were gone and went for a joyride, then headed to Donna's trailer. She and her dog herded him back to the house. And she texted me to tell me all was well. Appreciated all her help and attention.

Donna's place was perfect for our girls weekend away from Chicago. The house was decorated with all sorts of unique touches and the fully stocked kitchen made cooking breakfast a breeze. We truly enjoyed the secluded location and ability to sleep out on the huge, screened in porch. The yard is beautiful and lends itself to plenty of outdoor enjoyment.

Great location! About 10 minutes to Warren dunes so perfect for a beach weekend. The house is on a large property with a great back yard that includes a fire pit for use if desired. Itsa very calm area without much traffic going by so you can really enjoy peace and quiet and nature. The kitchen/living room are open and a great size to hang out with a large group family/friends that are staying there. Perfect for cooking meals in. The host is friendly and accommodating- great to work with!

We met up with friends for a reunion and had a great time. Plenty for our kids to explore on the property. The hot tub was a nice touch.

My name is Donna Blue and I love living out here. I'm from Chicago but found this place in 1986 and fell in love! We added on to the house and planted trees which are now huge-- and the gardens are, well, mature and lovely.
After going back and forth from Chicago on weekends I decided to JUST LIVE here,,. which I've been doing for about 12 years.
I'm an actor, playwright, teacher and director. I founded and was the Artistic Director of the Blue Rider Theater in Chicago for 14 years. I spent many years of my life traveling to do research for my plays, and performed abroad and Off- Broadway!
I have lived in Haiti, Poland, and trekked in Nepal (to just name a few.) I have been blessed with many people who welcomed me into their homes and
treated me wonderfully. Now it's my turn to host and I'm excited to share this beautiful place with others!
I perform at the Acorn Theater, teach drama in schools and hold retreats here on the land. I do all the gardening (my dog helps!) and love winters here as much as summers.
