Ours is a large recently renovated apartment in vibrant Palafrugell, Gerona, Spain. It has four gorgeous brightly-colored bedrooms (2 doubles and 2 singles), two bathrooms, a charming living / dinning room, a sunny balcony, a fully stocked kitchen and a garage (very useful around here!).
Located in the center of town close to all the conveniences, it is only 3km to the lovely beaches of Calella, Llafranc, Tamariu. A bus will take you there in four minutes. Or you could take the bicycles we would be happy to lend to you.
Palafrugell dates back to the 10th C. The old centre still conserves its medieval structure, presided over by the church of St Martí and made up of streets and alleys that form a large shopping centre. The town’s boom period occurred at the end of the 18th C., with the start of production of corks, which is still reflected in the local architecture: the cork factories and the modernist buildings. The Cork Museum gives a full description of this industry.
Browse as far as you like, along the network of 350km of paths that is currently to be found at the Costa Brava, or through the rice fields or along the dunes of the beach, to magnificent viewpoints at the seaside or the archaeological remains of the Empordà...and of course, along the coastal paths: an impressive route that comes down to the sea between cliffs and joins up all the beaches of the Costa Brava.
