Coral Cottage was newly renovated in May 2016. The kitchen has new cabinets and island, tile backsplash and granite counters, electric appliances including a dishwasher, and separate coffee/microwave station for your convenience. There is dinnerware for 8 and a variety of cookware for you and your guests, as well as a BBQ grill off the back deck. Each bed has a hygienic waterproof mattress protector that is washed between reservations, and you will find extra sheets and towels in the bedroom and linen closets. There is a Pack 'N Play available for our youngest guests to use.
There are flat screen TVs in the living room and master bedroom with cable service. A DVD player along with a good selection of family films and a few action films are in the living room. You can also connect your laptop to the TV to access your Netflicks and other on-line accounts using WiFi. Or simply unplug from technology and play some board games or assemble a puzzle - the choice is yours!
A new HVAC system was installed for your comfort, as well as ceiling fans and lights with remote controls. The new washer and dryer are available for use, and there is a supply of detergent. There is a wall-mounted hairdryer in the main bathroom, so you don't have to use precious space packing one in your luggage. We tried to think of things that would make your stay more comfortable - don't hesitate to call if there is something we missed.
We gently remind you to use appliances and other amenities carefully to prevent damage. Our place is stocked with quality bed and bath linens; please be aware that damaged or missing items will be deducted from your deposit.
The front and back yards are in the early stages of landscaping, but are clean and tidy. Coral Cottage is located on Bayshore Blvd which makes up a portion of Alternate Hwy 19. This makes it very convenient to get anywhere north or south, but it is a busy road at certain times of the day. We have a circular driveway which makes getting in and out much easier. Also, with the windows closed there is very little (if any) road noise in the house and none in the back yard deck area. The back yard is fully fenced which makes it safer for little ones. We tell you this in the interest of honesty so you won't be disappointed, and so you don't mark us down on our location if you chose to stay knowing that :-)
Enjoy our growing collection of bicycles and beach supplies, as well as sports equipment stored in the bench seat on the back deck.
"Delightful" Dunedin's quaint village-like atmosphere and relaxed lifestyle has lured people for decades from around the world. Enjoying almost four miles of picturesque waterfront, it is one of the few open waterfront communities where buildings do not obscure the view.
Only two blocks west of Coral Cottage is Mira Vista Park, where you can enjoy the nighty sunset over the Gulf of Mexico (see photo). Also close to the house, Hammock Park is an unspoiled oasis that allows you to experience Florida as nature created her. Or enjoy community concerts and other events held at Weaver Park just a mile down the road. Two blocks to the east is the Pinellas Trail, a paved walking/biking path that runs north to south through Dunedin and provides safe and easy access to downtown. Speaking of downtown, you'll find it has a cool vibe that is the perfect mix of fun and relaxation, with terrific shops, great restaurants, craft breweries, and plenty of evening entertainment spots. Most weekends from October to May, Dunedin plays host to community-wide festivals and other downtown activities, including a terrific farmers' market on Saturday mornings.
Dunedin's downtown reflects the rich Scottish heritage of its founding fathers. Early in its history, thanks to a dock built to accommodate schooners and sloops, Dunedin became one of Florida's chief seaport and trading centers. These days, you will find fishing charters and sailing excursions available at Dunedin Marina.
If you love the beach, Honeymoon Island State Park is only 3.4 miles away. Another option is Clearwater beach, located 7 miles to the south, which was named #1 in the US on TripAdvisor's list of top beaches for 2016 and #4 for 2017.
If golf is your game, Dunedin Golf Club is less than a mile away from the property, and is open to the public. Designed by world renowned golf course architect Donald Ross, it opened January 1, 1927, and from 1945 through 1962, the club was the home of the prestigious PGA of America. When you tee off, you follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest golfers of all times. Named "2008 Country Club of the Year" by Tampa Bay Magazine; voted the #1 Golf Course in Pinellas County by the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Visitors Bureau in 2015; and the 2016 winner of the Tampa Newspaper Reader's Choice Award for "Best Golf Course" in Pinellas County.
