Gated property, quiet, set in a very private garden. Easy to find with Desi's guidelines. Quality beds, linen and toiletries. Good bathroom and kitchenette. Brilliant walks all around in beautiful scenery and along empty beaches. Historically interesting area, lots to do for children. Boutique shopping in Rye. Plenty of great pubs and restaurants nearby.

The cottage is in a quiet and secure location, clean and tidy with a lovely feel. Desi was quick to reply to my messages and whilst she was away for our stay, we were met on time by her cleaning lady. Overall a very pleasant stay.

I stayed in the Capa room with my partner for two nights over the bank holiday weekend. The room was small but newly fitted out, the bathroom was clean and the room nicely furnished with comfortable beds. Desi was friendly and easy to communicate with in the lead up to our stay. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were great (although these were not replenished during our stay). Some things to bear in mind if you are thinking of booking . Fairlight is a tiny village with no amenities within walking distance, so you will need to drive to get anywhere. There is a very small kitchenette which is shared with two other rooms but to access this you have to go outside. There is a picnic bench outside the rooms but nowhere else to sit and eat breakfast (or other meals) so this is fine in very warm weather but not if it's chilly or raining. In the Capa room and the other ground floor room there are no windows apart from the French doors which lead out on to the driveway so not possible to keep a window open whilst in the room which meant it got quite close and stuffy at night. Overall we had a nice stay but I felt that the accommodation was very basic for the price we paid compared to other places I have stayed.

Hi, I'm Desi! I live in the beautiful village of Fairlight which is nestled between Rye and Hastings on the South Coast. I'm an established photographer and spend time on portrait commissions and mentoring professional, semi professional and amateur photographers. I'm an avid cinema and theatre fan with a love of the arts, also Indian and French food!

Although I've travelled and lived around the world, I'm so happy to be in Fairlight and so near to Fairlight Cove. I always look forward to giving my guests a warm welcome to my Rooms in Sussex and giving people an insight to this stunning part of the world.
