Tara seems to think she stayed at a hotel or resort where leaving food everywhere is OK. When you rent a home it's expected the home be left as a responsible renter. There was a broom and a vacuum in a hall closet, she never had any intention of using them. Tara and her friends never attempted to clean up one bit after themselves, when I walked in there was glass throughout the house even my friend was amazed at how they left the unit. French fries were scattered all over the house the kitchen had food trays on the counter tops, the trash was not emptied and our unit was left filthy and completely unlocked both back and front doors. Tara's response to me was "You said you had professional cleaners whats the issue". Unbelievable! I would get this kind of response they had no intention of leaving the place in some decent form after renting. We never expect our guest to do dishes or make beds or wash laundry. We do expect our guest to treat our home with respect is this to much to ask for from any renter? We only collected the security deposit standard practice. Also we do not even charge our renters on a standard stay what we are charged to clean the unit we eat extra cost because we appreciate how well our cleaning company does for us and how nice it looks for the next renter. It took our company 5 hours to clean our unit to be sure they picked up all the glass from under the furniture, all the food that was left over the floor and in the couch. Tara complains thinking we were concerned she moved furniture, that was not our concern it was the fact food was all over the table. These folks were outright filthy they should rent hotels so they can destroy them without consequence. We even let them in 5 hours early to be kind to there stay. Leaving the door unlocked was not acceptable, although our unit is in an upscale area there is no excuse to leave a place unlocked. We have keyless entry however the sliding glass door was unlocked too either way our unit was left unsecured. Tara does not like the fact she gave up her security deposit, had she taken care of the unit we would not have asked for it. We understand accidents happen leaving our place like she did was not an accident.
