Crabpot cottage is 60-seconds from Wells harbour in the heart of the town. It is a snug, 200-years old fisherman's cottage; cosy living space, gardens and parking. Wood burner, central heating, washing machine and WiFi make it ideal for short breaks or weeks away.

The space

Crabpot cottage comprises of a relatively compact kitchen (cooker, fridge, table and chairs, washing machine) opening onto the garden and a cosy lounge with woodburner. At the top of the (steep) stairs are two double bedrooms - two single beds and a double - and a bathroom. Bedding and towels are provided. In addition to the woodburner, the cottage is fully central heated. 200-years ago people were shorter so, while there is good ceiling height, the door frames are LOW! It is a traditional self-catering holiday cottage, and the photos give a good impression of what the cottage is like. It works especially well for families or couples who want to enjoy the delights of a Norfolk rural/coastal small town and fishing port.

Guest access

The listing is for the entire cottage, front garden, rear garden and off-road parking (located at the end of the rear garden behind wooden gates - shown in the images).

A delightful, well-equipped, clean, cosy cottage in a great location, handy for all the attractions of Wells Next The Sea, our favourite town in Norfolk. The private parking is a major plus for such a central location.

Me and my boyfriend had a fantastic few days at crabpot cottage in September! It was a small, quaint and well-equipped, little cottage. It is situated right in the heart of Wells, such a great location to get out and explore Norfolk! Would definitely recommend staying here to our friends and would consider staying here in the future on our return! Thanks again to Adrian and his many accurate recommendations, especially regarding restaurant choices in Wells!

Thank you for the lovely stay Adrian. The cottage is small but perfectly formed and fabulously located smack in Wells. It's a stone's throw from the quay and also from the fantastic Wells Crab House. It's a great base for exploring Wells Beach and only a very short drive to Holkham. We are a family of 4 and the kids were a bit disappointed that they left their Uno cards and monopoly behind in our rush to leave Kent. But Adrian the ever thoughtful host, had a hidden cabinet full of party games/board games so we enjoyed a game of Jenga in the evening. My little boy loves eggs and soldiers in the morning and there are even little egg cups in the kitchen. We didn't eat in the cottage other than breakfast but the usual microwave, toaster, kettle provided. We borrowed the crabbing kit and tried crabbing for the first time. Wells beach and Holkham beach are absolutely breathtaking. I think the kids will not have many lovely memories of our short break in Wells.

It's warm, comfortable, well located, and pretty. The garden is charming and a plus. Excellent service - the housekeeper turned out uncomplainingly on a Saturday night to show us how the heating worked. Our host was delightful. Highly recommended.

I agree with all the good reviews of Crabpot Cottage. Had a lovely few days there. The location is superb, just a few steps away from the quay and a great base to explore the area. The cottage is cute and cosy with a lovely garden to sit in when the sun is shining and the parking is a great bonus. The area is very safe and quiet. Adrian is a great host providing lots of recommendations from things to do in the area to all the best places to eat as well as tea, coffee, milk and other supplies.
