The neighbourhood

Avoca is a former gold mining town located on the banks of the Avoca River with the Sunraysia Highway running through the town's centre. The highway transforms itself into the wide boulevard with gardens and monuments in the central strip. Avoca's thriving gold mining days of the 1850s and 1860s have left a legacy of historical buildings throughout the town centre including the court house (built in 1859), several hotels and churches.

The Pyrenees region is home to an established agricultural and winery industry due to its Mediterranean climate. If you follow Vinoca Road west from the town centre you will pass several vineyards including Blue Pyrenees Estate with the Pyrenees Ranges providing a scenic backdrop. Around 20 kilometres north-west of Avoca is the small community of Moonambel which includes a general store and hotel. Moonambel is home to a large collection of wineries set within scenic countryside.

Getting around

Bonaville Boutique Accommodation is less than a 1 minute walk to the main street of Avoca and transfers to the regions wineries and racecourse are often available during events.

What a delightful house. Trina presents the house brilliantly with everything of the highest quality. Tina had left an amazing presentation of fresh fruit and snacks, including homemade chocolate chip cookies.... If you are looking for a high quality place to base yourself when touring the area this is the place. It's slightly more expensive than other places but well worth the extra. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and loved the stay so much we will be back!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Bonaville whilst exploring the Pyrenees. The hosts welcome and her attention to detail throughout the property was fantastic.
