Three bedrooms in a beautiful 200 year old granite house. Use of lounge and kitchen. Amazing surrounding land strewn with granite boulders. Views over the Teign valley and across to Exmoor. Lovely local walks.

The space

Farmhouse set in magnificent landscape. On the edge of the Teign gorge with its 4500 acres of woodland to walk in.
Use of the house is shared as we have our office/ studio in the building.
The third bed is a sofa bed with futon mattress- so not as luxurious as the pocket-sprung mattresses of the other two!

Guest access

Use of kitchen with Aga, lounge with woodburner and bathroom with marvellous roll- top bath, and a shower.
Second ensuite loo and shower.
Farmhouse set in 37acres of pasture and woodland for you to explore (shared with sheep, cows and horses!)

Interaction with guests

We will be available to help you settle in, to show you around and to answer questions during your stay, if you need it.
We may at times come into the house to use our office/ studio, and are happy to work around your needs if you require privacy.

Other things to note

We have two dogs who will not be in the house but may be around the land at times.
Dogs are potentially welcome. Do get in touch to discuss. Please note we have sheep, cows and horses on the land. Your dogs must be absolutely reliable and under control at all times!
This is a working farm so there will be some comings and goings.
Linen and towels provided.
There is no TV/ DVD player in the property- and internet is quite slow- not great for streaming.

This accomodation is a wonderful and natural place. The lovely garden, the old cottage and the great landscapes are a wonderful surrounding to have a great time. if you want to do a holiday trip into the wild nature, this is the perfect place to stay. If you want to visit some places around, have a trip to the coast oder even go to the City, you should know that it takes some time to get there. but even in that ways you will find nature and lovley villages. very well communication with Emma, a tidy cottage. we recommend this "home" for staying in Dartmoore!

Willingstone Farm is not on the beaten track; be prepared for narrow lanes and surprises around the next corner. But once at the remarkable 'Wishing' (Willing) Stones, the full delight of the location opens up, a miniature pastoral symphony! Not for you if you are allergic to isolation or tranquility. There are a plethora of beautiful walks, interesting sites and a variety of different activities within easy distance. I particularly enjoyed the Teign Gorge with its mature woodlands. Emma and Graeme were very helpful hosts and willingly adapted the ground floor accommodation to suit our elderly, 96-year old father, who was unable to access the sleeping and shower facilities upstairs. The local bird-life is prolific and was an endless source of delight to us. As Emma cautions, it is a working farm and they need access to their office and studio in the house. This was not a difficulty to us. Moretonhampstead, a 15 minute drive away, is an attractive market town with several small, high quality food shops plus a Coop. If you give yourself more than a couple of days, the peace of the place will unwind you. Thoroughly recommended to all who love nature.

Emma and Graham are lovely friendly hosts, and their farmhouse and garden are lovely. It is and incredibly peaceful and relaxing place to stay and we particularly loved the fact there was a great wood burner we could use in the living room and we could also buy fresh veg from their garden. Our son also loved he is stay on the farm and being close to the animals. The house is not in walking distance from any town or village which we did not quite appreciate until we got there, so as long as you are not expecting that, I would recommend the farmhouse to anyone wanting to get away from it all!

This is a lovely house and Emma and Graham were really helpful and accommodating. The location was really quiet and we enjoyed the simple life at the farm. It's useful to have the Wifi because there's little mobile reception in Dartmoor. We enjoyed some local walks and bike rides but a car is essential for getting a full Dartmoor experience. There's a small Coop in Moretonhampstead.

We had a fantastic stay at Emma's farmhouse in Dartmoor. It was a perfect hidden getaway. They were great hosts full of useful tips. The surroundings were beautiful stuffed full of wildlife and only a short drive to some beautiful villages. It is a quaint cosy taste of real Devon. We are already planning our next trip back!

We can't thank Emma and Graeme enough for such a lovely break in their beautiful home. The farmhouse is really great - lovely big kitchen and a really comfortable king sized bed! The garden is incredibly beautiful and they have sheep and horses on the land to the great delight of our 15 month old son who we took on a horse and cart ride which was such fun. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable - for example, on the first night we came down to a complementary bowl of freshly picked salad including edible flowers, which was delicious!!! Also they were so accommodating of our toddler which was very kind. Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.
