Stepping back in time, our unique farmlet will charm you with it's old English gardens and farm buildings est.1948. Nestled on top of a hill amongst Blackwoods, Blue Gums and wild birds, this place has a special romance with the seasons and nature. If staying in, be surrounded by whimsical comforts and treats or be entertained by our friendly Australian Miniature Goats. Prepare to be enchanted...

The space
Our cosy cottage welcomes couples in need of a private and romantic getaway or tired travelers seeking comfort and a memorable stay. Hear the dawn chorus as you wake and ponder your plans for the day. Watch the baby goats and sheep frolic whilst you sip your coffee. Feel cosy and warm as rain rolls in across the hillside. Pack a picnic, hike a mountain, explore the rock pools in town at low tide, roll a dice, play a card or simply watch films in bed, it's all yours for the taking. But before you call it a night, don't miss your chance to view the Milky Way like you've never seen it before.

Hideaway Farmlet is ready for you to unwind, put your feet up and settle in. In your cottage, enjoy a queen bed with luxe bedding, extra blankets and hot water bottles. The small dining table can be extended to double as a work space. The tv is on a trolley cabinet with remote so you can position it for maximum relaxation in bed if you choose. We provide a DVD player including some movies and popcorn. If after dining out you've changed your mind on dessert, we've got you covered. Enjoy some downtime with our carefully chosen games, puzzles and books.

Kitchen/cooking facilities are limited. We have a small outdoor bbq and indoors we supply a microwave convection oven, a toaster and sandwich maker, kettle, fridge/freezer and crockery. We provide a basic breakfast for you which includes coffee, various teas, local full cream milk, local bread, juice, cereals and fruit. Any available produce in harvest will be provided for you to sample. Our seasonal preserves are also available to purchase along with some homemade craft.

Make your stay even more memorable by booking a one hour, Airbnb Experience to get up close and cuddly with our friendly herd of Australian Miniature Goats. We'll introduce to you their personalities and preferences and you'll be able to groom, pat and cuddle the minis as we pass through each paddock. All Saturday Sunset sessions over Summer, October to March, include farm produce tasting with local wine & cheese.

Hideaway Farmlet is central to all popular tourist destinations in the North-West of Tasmania. Stay as long as you can afford to, most of our guests wish they stayed at least 2 nights. We are passionate about breeding quality Australian miniature goats and are advocates of simple living, regenerative land practices and chemical free growing. We enjoy slowly establishing a resourceful farm based on permaculture design. We are a happy, friendly, respectful couple who are spending the last precious years with our girls at home. When we're not working off the farmlet, we find any opportunity to be enjoying and improving our gardens or tending to our friendly animals. We love to watch a great sunset, eat good food & spend time watching nature. If we are touring, we'll be sitting back enjoying the views or bunking in for some downtime. We also love providing guests with the opportunity to slow down in such beautiful surroundings which they can briefly call 'home' too.
