Description

The space

The house is set amongst beautiful lawns and gardens, with the most amazing ocean views. All the rooms are large and airy with 10ft ceilings and beautiful features including stained glass windows and original cedar boards. Enjoy the large living spaces or sit on the front porch and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine.

There are 3 large bedrooms - the Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed, sitting area/day bed and ensuite (shower and toilet). The second bedroom has a queen bed and the 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds.

The bathroom is also very spacious, boasting a
Double shower (great water pressure) claw foot bath and custom vanity. It also has a heat lamp and heated tiles. The toilet is separate.

The kitchen has been recently renovated, with a beautiful large timber island bench with stools. We have a large Miele oven with gas cook top. The kitchen has everything you need to produce a beautiful meal including all dishes, appliances, utensils etc. We also provide kitchen basics - tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt, pepper etc.

There is an outside BBQ and utensils for those wanting to cook outdoors.

The house has fully ducted air conditioning - keeping it cool in summer and cosy the in winter. Set the temperature to what suits you. (Please note: while there are a number of fireplaces in the house, they are all closed and purely ornamental)

Guest access

You hire the whole house, including gardens, garage and carport. The driveway is shared, as the dairy is located behind the house. We minimise all noise from the dairy and most guests say they don't even hear the cows being milked in the morning! (4am!!)

Interaction with guests

We will meet you on arrival to show you through the house and make sure you have everything you need. We like to provide our beautiful dairy products for your stay, so on arrival let us know what flavours of gelato you'd like (along with milk and natural yoghurt) and we'll make sure you've got plenty! We are also happy to arrange a time to see the cows being milked and to feed a calf - if this is something you would enjoy.

The neighbourhood

We are situated on Saddleback Mountain, approx 3km (3mins drive) from central Kiama. We are a few minutes from all the local beaches, shops, cafes, restaurants etc.
We have no direct neighbours and uninterrupted rural views

Getting around

Kiama Train Station is a short 3 minute drive away. A taxi one way is approx $7.50
Parking for 2-3 cars available on site (more by arrangement)

Other things to note

We are a working farm, and whilst we try to minimise any noise and movement of vehicles (trucks, tractors etc) we can't guarantee total quiet. If you have concerns or are particularly sensitive please feel free to discuss with me prior to booking and I can detail what to expect.

We had an absolutely perfect three nights at The Pines - watching the sunrise from the verandah, reading out on the grass, eating together in the so-well-equipped kitchen. And the gelato and haloumi!! We didn't want to go out the whole time we were there - and we didn't want to check out, either. We'll be back.

This is the most fabulous place to stay, the location up on the hill overlooking Kiama is breathtaking. The house is very spacious and comfortable and the cottage garden was in full flower. Great escape from busy city life, and lovely interaction with nature and the properties animals. The supplied dairy products were another wonderful bonus. We hope to return in the future.

This farm stay was just beautiful and peaceful especially with its antique charms. Mahlah was very friendly and helpful and even showed the grandchildren the cow's being milked and let them feed some calves. We had a lovely time and the views are amazing.

We had a wonderful weekend. The house was delightful, views amazing, and the ice cream was absolutely delicious. We will hopefully come back again and have already recommended to friends. A highlight was meeting Kel and getting to know a little about the farm, dairy business and the history of the house. It was just a shame we didn't get to see the cows being milked. We will have to visit Carriageworks market one weekend to try the cheese! Thanks for having us all and for accommodating our dog as well, he had a ball.

Good place to stay with amazing views. The garden is lovely and it is only a very short ride to Kiama.

It was such a great weekend. Mahlah hosted my bridal party and myself for the weekend of my wedding. It meant I was stress free, relaxed, and ready for my big day. A beautiful location, a stunning home, and a peaceful weekend. Highly highly recommend. Xx
