Happy Valley Farm Cottage is nestled in the heart of the Great Southern in the locality of Westwood. It is located on a working sheep and grain farm and is only 15km from the regional centre of Katanning. Whilst you enjoy the peace and serenity of your natural surroundings you can rest assured that anything you might need is only a short drive away.
The space
“The Cottage”, as it is affectionately known, was built c.1920 as a worker’s cottage. It has been lovingly restored in recent years to provide all the comforts you might desire whilst retaining its historical charm.
Situated alongside the family homestead, you are assured your privacy, whilst at the same time the owners are close at hand should you need any information or assistance.
Originally designed as a romantic getaway for couples, “The Cottage” is equally suited to professionals traveling for work or anyone looking for rest and rejuvenation. Happy Valley Farm Cottage is the perfect place for a honeymoon, a babymoon, an anniversary or maybe for some much needed self-care. It could perhaps be the perfect place pen your first novel. While you are here you might – luxuriate in a rare sleep in, watch the sunrise through your bedroom window, marvel at the stars, enjoy a wine by the outdoor fireplace (during winter), read a book from our curated selection, play a game, reconnect with your special someone (or maybe yourself), enjoy some fresh air or take a walk…. The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless. If you are craving peace and profound rest you have come to the right place.
The Cottage has one bedroom with a comfy queen sized bed. French linen sheets and a wool doona ensure a cosy night’s sleep. The bathroom is well appointed and the shower is luxurious.
In the living area there is a comfy sofa and Smart TV for your entertainment needs. A split system air conditioner will keep you comfortable no matter what the weather or season. The small but functional kitchen has everything you need to make a simple meal including stovetop, microwave, fridge and kitchen utensils. Basic breakfast supplies are provided along with tea, coffee and milk.
Wifi is also provided.
Guest access
You will have access to the whole cottage and there is plenty of room to park your vehicle.
As this is a working farm we kindly request that you ask permission if you wish to explore beyond the house yard.
Other things to note
Fire Place:
There is an open fire place inside the Cottage. Unfortunately this is not operational. Please do NOT attempt to light a fire.
Farm Safety:
Please bear in mind this is a working farm. For your safety and the safety of our team please ask permission before exploring beyond the house yard.
There are some great things to see and we can point you in the right direction.
Farm Dogs:
You are likely to be greeted by 3 friendly kelpies during your stay. If you like dogs feel free to give them a pat. If not ignore them and they will leave you alone.
Farm Museum:
If you are interested in old farm machinery we have a museum with lots of old tractors, trucks, engines etc.
