A perfect place for a quiet vacation - away from tourist crowds... when ever you feel like it though there are plenty of places to visit. The pool was great. I never had a kitchen that well equipted in any appartment we rented before. I wish we had had more time - it was beautiful and relaxing. Thank you Branko!

We had a nice stay for a week in the house. Branko gave us a lot of tips during the check-in. The house and the pool was very nice. We tried some of the beaches Branko showed us on the map which were all very nice and different. so everybody should find a nice beach for his personal favor

We had a great week in the large house in June 2017. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids under 8 years of age and the pool was the highlight of our stay (as we had hoped when we booked). The Eastern Istrian coastline in the area is very beautiful, but has very few traditional beaches and a lot of cliffs, which limits the bathing options you have with small kids. The house was clean and comfotable, and Branko was a very friendly host. The only drawback was the bathroom, which was too small: for us as a family it was fine, but for 3-5 adults it could be tight. Rakalj is small village, but has a small grocery store and you can reach Pula, Labin and Rabac within less than hour. All in all we had a wonderful stay.

Branko and Ida were wonderful hosts. We emailed beforehand and Branko went out of his way to accommodate our needs. There was a slight mix up about the number of people in our party but that was remedied without issue. The house and pool are spotlessly clean and you can see that a lot of attention has been given to making guests feel at home. The location is beautiful. You feel you are in the middle of nowhere but there is a bar and shop within walking distance. Would recommend to families, couples or groups of friends. British people should note that guests are requested to be quiet between 2 and 4pm! Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.

We stayed in the villa during the last week of August- family of 4 including 2 children. Really enjoyed our stay. House was very comfortable and kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need for cooking, even extra. We had enough space for all of us and very comfortable beds. House has very rustic and traditional feel about it, has some old character and you feel like you are submerging into traditional Istrian way of living. Swimming pool and beautiful garden were great addition to the house. Pool was very warm and clean. Kids spent a lot of time in the pool and enjoyed every minute of it. Surprisingly it was deeper than we expected, so needed armbands for our younger daughter. Branko brought us some lovely fish during our stay and we had great BBQ feast with our neighbours in the house next door. We spent a lot of time on the veranda of our house, which has big table and much needed shade. Branko grows beautiful flowers, grapes and herbs in his garden which added extra beauty. Branko speaks very good English and is very happy to give you lots of advice on the local area : beaches, places to visit, shops, local attractions, restaurants. There are 3 lovely beached within 5-10 min drive from the house. Rakalj village is beautiful with no drive through traffic, which makes it very quiet and peaceful. WiFi was working perfectly so we were able to keep in touch with outside world. We have lovely memories about our stay at the house. Thank you very much Branko!

We had two great weeks at the Villa Vickowi, the house is lovely and the pool is just great for kids. The village and area around is quiet and you need to drive to get to the nicer beaches. Brando is a very nice host who welcomed us very warmly and responded to our problems very quickly. Just be aware that there are loads of quite aggressive mosquitos, so bring some repellant to enjoy the evening hours.

Branko and Ida were very welcoming and efficient hosts who both speak very good English. We exchanged emails before arrival to finalise arrangements. Branko did all he could to sort out the problem with the clarity of the pool water on our arrival and this was fixed before the end of our week. The wi-fi connection was not working in the main house but there was a slow signal near the pool from the smaller house leading to something of a holiday wi-fi 'detox' for us. The house was immaculate with a particularly well equipped kitchen and measures in place to keep mosquitos out with screens at the windows and plug in repellants supplied. The beds were very comfortable. Great rural location combining a traditional rustic house with mod cons and a pool.
