We stayed here for a week with our 7 month old baby. The cottage is exactly what it is described as - a period propery by the sea. So it comes with the quirks of a period property... It is superbly located for the town centre, and is at the quieter end of town near the harbour so there is less issue with noise at night. Parking was easy with the permit (even on a bank holiday). The cottage is well equipped and ideal for a couple / small family. The views from the upstairs from bedroom are fab and we saw some lovely sunrises. The only real negative was re: staying there with a baby. As its a terrace there was quite a bit noise from next door, plus - as its an old house its quite creaky / noisy. Something we should have thought about having lived in old properties before and something to bear in mind if booking.

Thankyou Rachael for your review. Sorry that the children staying next door were noisy the week you stayed. We have only had one noise issue in nearly 10 years, and that was noise from my guests !

Anchor Cottage is a beautiful place in a lovely location. We stayed at Christmas time and it was perfect for this. The cottage has been restored beautifully and so it has the best of both - all the modern home comforts whilst retaining its historical features. It faces the sea in old Minehead quite near to the harbour and so all you need to do is step out the door in order to be in some of the country's most pretty coastline. Facilities such as shops, pubs and restaurants are only a few minutes' walk away. We made use of the log burner in the sitting room which added to the country cottage atmosphere. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and therefore a pleasure to cook in. We left feeling very relaxed after staying in such a lovely area but sad to be saying goodbye to it so soon. We would definitely recommend Anchor Cottage and hope to revisit one day.
