Our newly renovated two bedroom guest wing is a secluded hideaway nestled in native trees.
It is close to everything being only a 800 metre flat walk to the beach and Paihia shops cafes and tourist attractions.

The space

Your apartment is a private, tranquil space set amongst peaceful native bush yet only a 800m flat walk to the beach and Paihia township.

At the back doorstep is a popular 2 hour bushwalk. You will see many native birds including fantail and tui and hear our native owl the morepork (or Ruru) at night.

We have a large deck surrounded by trees with outdoor furniture and a BBQ you are welcome to use.

The apartment is attached to our house. It is totally separate from us, with its own entrance way. Although we live on the property in the main house we will respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

The apartment is brand new having been completely renovated in Dec 2016.

There is parking up the driveway for one car.
Please note: The driveway is quite steep and the apartment is set over two levels so might not be suitable for little children or elderly.

We loved our stay here and were sad to leave. Kathryn provides a perfect hideaway haven for a peaceful and comfortable stay to easily enjoy Northland and the Bay of Islands. Kathryn provided really attentive and helpful communication both prior to and during our stay. The treehouse is well located down a quiet driveaway but within very easy walking distance of Paihia. Lots of lovely little nooks and corners to the house which we loved. Very comfortable beds, well equipped kitchenette and clean bathroom with a fantastic shower. Highly recommend! Would love to stay again.

Perfect stay, location, privacy, space, clean and well located. Two bedrooms (one single bed and a queen). Very sunny place with a great deck. The accommodation is connected but private from the house. We only saw the hosts on arrival. A short walk to the shops, restaurants, and tourist facilities. I would recommend staying here for a quite peaceful stay in paradise.

Beautiful setting right next to walking tracks through Kauri forest. Within walking distance of town. Our hosts very very friendly and welcoming and offered us the use of bikes and kayak. Very comfortable and well fitted out accommodation.

We had a great stay at the secluded treehouse hideaway. The location is fantastic, it's surrounded by nature and yet very close to the village with it's shops and restaurants. The accomodation is very clean, well equipped and spacious. Kathryn is a lovely host, who made us feel home from the moment we arrived.

We had a wonderful stay at Kathryn's and Jim's treehouse. From the moment we entered the treehouse, we were amazed by the thoughtful touches (chocolate, wine, and coffee as a welcoming present), the cleanliness of the house, and the great layout and lovely arrangement of the different rooms. Kathryn and Jim were great hosts, always super responsive and helpful whenever we had any questions. They even kindly offered to print out some last-minute documents for us and took the time to showing us around. We had a fantastic time. The kids loved the many books and toys and the spaciousness of the house. A big thank you for everything and I can only highly recommend this house to every traveler!
