Neighbourhood highlights

The Whitsundays are made up of several suburbs with a population of around 7000 people. Being a tourist destination, there are a lot of accommodation options in apartments and rooms around Airlie Beach and Cannonvale, while just a few minutes away, you'll find the one & only little Cane Cutters Cottage. Instead of smelling your apartment neighbour's dinner and hearing their (not always friendly) conversations and being forced to listen to loud music that can go well into the night in the Airlie Beach night scene, the Cane Cutters Cottage is quiet, private and relaxing. And still conveniently close Airlie Beach and with the main Whitsunday shopping centre only a minute or two away.

Sailing, islands, wildlife, exploring and adventuring have been such a big part of our lives, we feel unbelievably lucky to live where we do and to be able to share our homes . After 10 years running charter yachts in the Caribbean (way back in the '70's!) before settling permanently in Queensland's Whitsunday Islands, we discovered Tasmania and Bruny Island on our travels. Hospitality has been our life, so today we enjoy sharing our new beach house in TASMANIA and the +100 year old Heritage Cottage in the Whitsundays. Between hosting guests with an authentic Australian experience, we enjoy home life, riding our horses, travel and sailing around the world with friends. In the past years we've sailed New Zealand, Alaska, Central America, Galapagos, Patagonia and all the way to Antarctica. We hope to share some of your adventures too!
