Welcome to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari! Located on the side of our visitor centre sits a spacious two-bedroom home. It is a relaxing and comfortable place to unwind, with stunning views and amazing walking trails right at your door.

We are New Zealand's largest fenced eco-sanctuary, home to 2,500 kiwi which you should be able to hear at night. Your accommodation includes free access for self-guided walks through the Southern Enclosure, or book a tour to get truly immersed in nature.

The space
Our property has two bedrooms and all the comforts of home, except a tv ☺️.

Hi there, myself and my husband Craig live in a small town called Tirau in the South Waikato. I am Tai Urungi Chief Exec at Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, the largest predator fenced eco-sanctuary in the world, Craig is a Registered Nurse working in primary health and a Registered Paramedic working mostly at motorsport events.
