There are several activities around Cape Tribulation that are really worth a look at during your stay at Villa Zena:

1. Ocean Safari - 5 hours
This is a half day reef trip which leaves from Myall Beach , the next beach north from Coconut Beach. Its only takes around 30 minutes to the reef from Cape Tribulation in a fast & fun boat so you get almost the same snorkelling time at the reef as with other full day tours, and the reefs up here are pristine and sheltered so great for snorkelers.

2. Jungle Surfing - 2 hours
This is a guided tree-platform and zipline tour through the world’s oldest rainforest with amazing views into and over the canopy. There’s no experience necessary and they take all ages from 3 upwards so it’s great fun for all the family.

3. Sailaway Reef Tours - full day
This is another fantastic option to visit the Great Barrier Reef, this time on a relaxed full day tour on a beautiful and spacious sailing catamaran. Again you’ll visit a couple of pristine snorkel sites, and the trip includes lunch and refreshments.

4. Exotic Fruit Tasting - 1.5 hours
This is a delicious and fascinating tour through a local exotic tropical fruit farm, tasting some of the strangest and peculiar fruits which love this climate.

5. Freeride Electric Adventure Tours - 1.5 hours
New to the area is another wonderful way to see the rainforest. This is an electric mountain bike tour through rainforest trails and visiting a freshwater swimming hole.

6. Cape Tribulation Horse Rides - 1.5 hours
Relaxed horse ride through the rainforest and along beautiful Myall Beach. Takes children from age 5 upwards.

7. National Park walks
Dubuji Boardwalk. Beautiful boardwalk through fan palm galleries and out onto Myall Beach. The rainforest here sits over remnant reef so this is literally where the rainforest meets the reef.
Cape Tribulation Beach & Lookout. Short walk from the Cape Trib Beach car park up to a lookout on the Cape. There’s also a rough path over the saddle of the Cape out onto Myall Beach.
Mount Sorrow Ridge Walk - requires moderate fitness and should only be undertaken in fine weather. This is a challenging walk up the ridge of Mount Sorrow, but just below the summit there is a spectacular view down over Cape Tribulation (in clear weather). The mountain walk which takes about 3 1/2 hours - take plenty of water and some food and make sure you tell someone that you’re going up just in case you get into difficulties

8. Cape Tribulation Wilderness Cruises
Cooper Creek is a beautiful meandering creek which meets the ocean just south of Thornton Beach, about half way between the ferry and Cape Trib. There is only one boat allowed on this creek, so it has exclusive access to the entire area, and gives you an excellent chance of seeing Saltwater Crocodiles and other amazing wildlife.

9. Daintree Discovery Centre
A fantastic way to learn about the rainforest on elevated walkways and a tower, with interactive displays and dinosaurs! Great for the whole family.

10. Daintree Ice Cream Company & Floravilla
As you drive north or head back south, don’t miss out on some of the most delicious ice cream and Gelato you’ve ever tasted made from fruit grown right here in the Daintree.

It’s a good idea to book some activities before you get here, particularly during peak seasons and school holidays when activities like Jungle Surfing and Ocean Safari are often booked out a week in advance. We are happy to make all tour arrangements for you, so do give us a shout if you need any further information.

If you need help or advice while you’re in Cape Trib, give us a call, or pop into Jungle Adventure Centre who offer visitor information and tour bookings.
