Bright and cozy room in historic Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Full separate kitchen with dining table (note: no microwave). Elevator/laundry in building.
Steps away from many bars/restaurants. Close to Fort Greene park. Very quick/easy access to the city (C/G trains), Atlantic Terminal/Barclays Center is also a short walk away.
I'm in the process of getting new photos done, the current photos show a pull-out sofa-bed, but there is actually a real full-size bed now, as well as a couch in addition.

Rick's place was cozy as advertised. I took off a few stars as this was my first experience reserving with Airbnb and it was not as smooth as I would hope it to be. Rick is slow to respond which is not what he states in his description. This was an issue for me after I picked up …

Response from Rick:
Lana, I'm really sorry that your first experience using Airbnb was not as smooth as you would've liked it to be. To address everything you've stated in your review: 1) Hosts do not enter their own response rates - the response rate is directly based on how quickly you are actually responding via the app, I always respond as quickly as possible and Airbnb reflects that for me. When you arrived at my place, I was on an international flight, so I did not receive your messages/calls about the apartment number confusion until I landed (which was in the listing details as you quickly figured out). I responded as soon as I landed, in a panic that you did not know which apartment it was, which has never been an issue in the past. All other exchanges were quick, including requesting additional money from you, which brings me to my second point - 2) I received a call from an unknown number which was her friend asking about the check out time (which is how I found out by surprise that apparently there was a 2nd guest staying almost the entire time with Lana). In my pricing policy, it clearly states that there is an extra $20 per extra guest after the first guest, so I immediately contacted her to resolve this issue. And of course, payment is a crucial and central aspect to Airbnb, that's what makes the whole thing work, otherwise I would just be letting strangers stay at my place for fun. I hope that you can understand that having an unexpected guest staying in your personal home is not a small detail to overlook. 3) Yes, there is a note in my "house rules" stating not to mention the sublet to other neighbors. This does not by any means make the listing "illegitimate" and it would never leave you stranded. It has been "illegal" for a long time now to rent out an entire leased apartment for under 30 days in NYC, unless someone on the lease is there (hotel lobby). The rules and policies are clearly stated on Airbnb, and it is up to Airbnb users to inform themselves about the local rules and policies for subletting/renting. Although, if ever there were to be a problem, it would be on me since I am on the lease, the guest would never be "kicked out" or stranded", I would be if anything. There are indeed illegitimate/scam sublets out there, especially on (Hidden by Airbnb) for example, but not on Airbnb, and definitely not at my place (as my 24 other positive reviews reflect). Also, the house rules are available on my listing upon reserving, so if you didn't agree with it, you could have changed to a different reservation. 4) Although I am deeply saddened to hear you were disappointed and that you left a negative review, I am glad you still managed to enjoy the apartment itself overall and that it was cozy as advertised.

Rick's place was great! Exactly as described, it's a cute bright spot with a much needed air conditioner in the bedroom for hot summer nights. Great location and value too!

Rick's apartment was great. He keeps it extremely tidy and clean, provided an alternative key arrangement pick up when he found out I was arriving late at night, and was very responsive and attentive. The apartment is literally seconds from a subway station that will have you in …
