The space
Bed and breakfast in a double room, with a standard double bed, in a four bedroomed brick and flint cottage in Gresham. The bedroom is reached by a Norfolk winder staircase and there is a downstairs bathroom, through the kitchen. The bathroom is rather dated and has no functioning shower at the moment, just the bath. There is a fan heater, as it's a bit cold in there in winter!

We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Where you’ll be

Gresham, Norfolk, United Kingdom

Gresham is a village near the north Norfolk coast, three miles south of Sheringham and five miles south west of Cromer, both coastal towns. We are also about a 5 minute walk from Chaucer Barn and a 10 -15 minute walk from All Saints, Gresham, so very handy if you are going to a wedding there.

Gresham is handy for visiting stately homes - Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall are within easy cycling distance. Holkham Hall is also nearby and Houghton Hall is about 30 - 40 minutes away by car. The area is also good for cycling (the house is on the National Cycle Route number 30, part of the Norfolk Coast Cycleway) and walking the Norfolk Coast Path. The Weavers' Way passes through Gresham. There are also walks from the house. You can go seal watching at Blakeney, bird watching at Cley and kayaking on the coastal creeks. The nearest town is Sheringham, 3 miles to the north. Cromer is about 5 miles away to the north east. The Georgian market town of Holt is 5 miles to the west. Norwich is about 20 miles to the south.

Gresham is very quiet - there are no pubs or shops. The nearest pubs are The Wheatsheaf at West Beckham, about a mile away, The Red Hart in Bodham or Roman Camp Inn in Aylmerton, both about 2 miles away, and all within easy cycling distance along quiet roads. All three pubs serve food. The nearest shop is at Aylmerton, about 2 miles away.

I have lots of leaflets on activities in the area and can advise you on running, walking and cycling routes. I have OS maps and walking books that you may borrow.

I live with my partner Mark and I like walking, cycling, running, gardening and reading. I love living in Gresham as it's so peaceful and close to the lovely north Norfolk coast. The quiet lanes round here are perfect for cycling as there's little traffic and I love to combine a bike ride with a trip to Felbrigg Hall or Blickling Hall, both National Trust houses with lovely gardens. I also like to bike to Sheringham and Cromer as it's a pleasant bike ride and they're great places to nose around. I enjoy running and walking and there is a network of footpaths round here that I use for both. Biking to a pub or a cafe is another favourite pastime of mine. I particularly like the Gunton Arms, Wiveton Bell, Wiveton Cafe and the Glandford Art Cafe. We have a large garden and I am slowly taming parts of it with raised vegetable beds and hoping to create a nice mix of wild areas and a productive fruit and veg patch.
