The property is ideal for an extended family stay (great park across the road) or a getaway with friends.
The space
White Cottage and White Barn are located side-by-side just 1.5km from the centre of Hobart, a 15 minute drive to MONA and a short walk to the popular North Hobart restaurant and cafe strip. The two dwellings sleep up to 12 guests in 6 bedrooms (5 with queen beds, 1 with 2 single beds). Directly across the road is a fantastic fully fenced park for the kids.
WHITE COTTAGE (4 bedrooms, sleeps up to 8 guests, 1 off street car park)
White Cottage is a 1905 double-front Federation cottage with exceptional street presence. White Cottage has 4 generous-sizes bedrooms and is fully renovated with modern comforts whilst retaining the cottage’s original character. Sleeping up to 8 guests, White Cottage’s sleeping configuration is as follows:
- Bedroom 1 (ground level): Queen bed (sleeps 2)
- Bedroom 2 (ground level): Queen bed (sleeps 2)
- Bedroom 3 (ground level): x2 single beds (sleeps 2)
- Bedroom 4 (upper level): Queen bed (sleeps 2)
On the ground floor, the Cottage features an open plan kitchen, dining and living area which has direct access to the rear courtyard, large renovated bathroom (shower over bath), two toilets and a full laundry with washing machine and clothes dryer. The kitchen opens onto the sunny, private, landscaped courtyard with a distinct Mediterranean aesthetic complete with bbq, blue-stone crazy paving, established olive trees and outdoor dining setting for 8.
WHITE BARN (2 bedrooms, sleeps up to 4 guests, 1 off street car park)
White Barn is positioned at the rear of White Cottage and is a modern, Scandinavian-style, 70m2 two bedroom, one bathroom standalone dwelling located on a private internal block with free unlimited WiFi for guests to take advantage of. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area has a cathedral ceiling, and the barn has brand new, excellent quality SMEG appliances and white goods. The interior and outdoor spaces have been carefully designed to maximise our guests’ comfort and relaxation.
The kitchen and bathroom have been designed with a distinct Scandinavian feel with bespoke joinery throughout. The open-plan living/kitchen area and one of the bedrooms feature custom-built pop-out window bench seating to cosy into whilst reading a book, enjoying the all day sun or relaxing with a cuppa.
The bathroom features a stunning raked ceiling, a walk-in shower with brass tap ware, terrazzo flooring and an airy neutral colour palette with a skylight positioned over the shower. The skylight ensures an abundance of natural light in the bathroom.
There is also a laundry with quality appliances included a washing machine and clothes dryer.
Both bedrooms include ample built-in wardrobe space, with the main bedroom featuring a large pop-out window with bench seating and a bespoke built-in desk area for those who need a space to fire up the laptop. Both bedrooms have comfy queen size beds with custom-built bed heads and bedside tables.
There is a deck for guests to enjoy their breakfast, a drink of an evening or simply soaking up the all day sun.
There is off street parking for one car, behind secure gates.
THINGS TO NOTE
HEATING
In each dwelling, there are:
- Electric blankets on each of the 5 queen beds at the properties (not on the 2 single beds in White Cottage)
- Electric heaters in each bedroom
- Reverse-cycle air-conditioning unit/heat pump in the open plan living/dining/kitchen of each dwelling
- Extra blankets for the beds to keep you warm and cosy.
- There is also an electric fireplace in the lounge room of White Cottage (non-wood burning so guests can enjoy the heat and ambiance without the mess and hassle of wood).
CAR PARKING
Each dwelling has its own designated off street car park (total of 2). Alternatively, there is free and unlimited car parking on the street.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY
We welcome families with children of all ages and provide a portacot (with cot sheet) and high chair (upon request at time of booking) free-of-charge. There are also children’s toys and books at the properties, as well as a fantastic park directly across the road (John Doggett Park) with recently refurbished toilets, bbq and picnic facilities.
